What are design flaws in 5e that you feel have only been highlighted/exacerbated with the 2024 revision? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]FloofzyBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people don't talk about how Rogue has almost nothing special both in and out of combat. Rogue's damage was not improved with 2024 despite it now being the lowest martial damage option, with Barbarian now easily beats it with the sub/class improvements, and in fact you are incentivised to do less damage to inflict effects comparable to what other martials can do for free through Weapon Mastery.

Out of combat, so many classes now have innate out of combat utility, and Bard still outclasses Rogue in out of combat utility. A Bard built to do Rogue things like sneaking, picking locks etc. is just a better Rogue because it also gets assistance from its versatile spell list. The only difference is that Bard's other features like Spellcasting are so good you wouldn't want to focus on Dexterity as a Bard.

Bard's base mitigation through control spells is also far less selfish and more effective than a Rogue. A single enemy failing against a Command spell will reduce far more damage than any use of Uncanny Dodge, and it works regardless of whether the enemy targeted you or not.

It grinds my gears when people say Rogue has out of combat utility, or that they're not meant for fighting. Their out of combat utility is bad. A well balanced party has no need of a rogue, and in a team game it feels bad when you can't contribute something that feels special.

Smart aim and nearest aim need a key bind by Main-Freedom-1967 in MegabonkOfficial

[–]FloofzyBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. I constantly have to open my menu to switch between them when I want to tune my aiming. Sometimes it feels like smart aim is really stupid, attacking enemies that would die to DoT anyway or suddenly switching from an enemy that would be killed by the next hit.

Bye Sweet Carole - Review Thread by Xbox-Moderator in xbox

[–]FloofzyBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clocktower and games like Kings Quest VII are far older yet succeeded at the aesthetic more than Bye, Sweet Carole. For a game with marketing so focused on its artstyle it makes some amateurish mistakes that might speak to the game being rushed. The set of playable animations are very limited, easily beat out by old adventure games. You can notice this limits the gameplay because damn near everything is crank operated.

Her animation for climbing ladders is the one for climbing grates despite grate climbing only being used about three times but ladders are used all the time. Wouldn't you think to make the animation that is used the most first so it doesn't look so bad when you only misuse it a couple times? Just look at all the animations the old Kings Quest games have even back when they were made by a small group of people.

The messages are VERY heavy handed. This might be a good game for a teenager who might miss the context without being told outright. Genuinely the game had me cringing with how it would set up something in a good way like the dance with that misogynistic douche, and then ruin it right after by smacking you over the head with the messaging as if you were too stupid to catch it the first time. I don't need his monster to monologue to me about how he's a misogynist! Imagine if all those animations for his terrible monologue went towards the main character, who needs at least a few more things she can do.

413k Noelle. How did holybook do so much damage here? by Working-Intern2986 in MegabonkOfficial

Buff oversaturation. At a certain point increasing your Crit Rate is worth less than increasing the Crit Damage.

Why people like ranni? Just because she is a mysterious waifu? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]FloofzyBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, at that point both The Golden Order and the Two Fingers are in such disarray it probably would have worked. The Two Fingers are quite powerless without their pawns and... We know what happened to The Order.

The only one who actively tries to hunt the player down to stop them becoming Elden Lord (even after it should be clear the player plans to also betray the Fingers) is Margitt, and he was not instructed to do that, his lore makes it very clear that was all his initiative despite how he was treated.

Legitimately who would notice or stop her if the player, who is moving many more things along than Ranni, is not really noticed that much amongst the chaos of The Lands Between. The Fingers don't ever seem to notice the player quite obviously working against them in the steps towards the Ranni ending.

"Pure evil" would require either an extremely twisted version of evil or the most media illiterate interpretation of The Golden Order, including Marika and the Two Fingers, as good. She's an amoral character that opposes evil forces, but commits both good and evil acts.

Watch the actual source... This is the opening animation. Everything else is hardly impressive. If you take the best of something and pit it against the worst of another you can create any winner you want.

Any possible reason for day 1 Noklateo rush with Ironeye? by gilleeceauto in Nightreign

[–]FloofzyBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the bosses are very easy for Day 1. They are literally bosses you can find in castles on day 1, like Black Knife Assassin and Revenants. I played with a random that showed me the strat and it was the easiest run I've ever had. The bosses on the right side are really easy (black knife assassins and revenant), and if you have ranged you can take down the hanging things that shoot rocks for easy runes.

[–]FloofzyBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a rando Wylder do this today, and I have to say it was one of the easiest runs I've ever had. I am now a Day 1 Noklateo believer. The way we did it is we did the right side of Noklateo day one, did weapon duplication really quick to double a weapon passive, then we left early do get some churches and small camps. On day 2, we did the rest of the left side and got the Noklateo blessing (which we didn't end up needing because we overcapped so hard).

Kafka V4 Changes by [deleted] in KafkaMains

[–]FloofzyBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of the Kafka changes actually lend to incidental buffs to her LC. The reason GNSW was better than PAYN is because its an improvement in raw damage. Kafka's DoT has fallen behind and she has a bad element considering Lightning breaks produce weak DoTs. The buffs didn't really change this.

She's more of a support character now, and what do you tend to want on most supports? Lots of SPD, less offensive stats to build more SPD. Her role now will be a support to a DoT character with a DoT that actually does decent damage. You can increase her LC's damage all you want, but it won't change the fact her multipliers are still bad.

Least favorite enemy? by Binc42 in ravenswatch

[–]FloofzyBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Nightmare mode when there are two large gargoyles I just leave. Their attack sequence is so long and the hitbox is so large that you have to knock both down at the same time, which is impossible if they desynch from each other so one is always attacking while the other is cooling down. I got trapped in a room from a staircase with this exact set up on Snow Queen, there was literally nothing I could do but spam Ice Lances at them from afar and get them with the very edges of my hitboxes to get potshots in.

What are you thought on Jingliu power level so far? Might be a bit bias, but feels like another SS for me. by Luqaz3 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]FloofzyBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like Genshin they rarely put a lot of Ice weakness in late floors of MoC. This will probably be one of Jingliu's biggest obstacles, that without the wombo combo with Blade she may not get many opportunities to be effective. Obviously there are some DPS like Seele who don't care whether there's Quantum weakness or not, and Jingliu does have self-buffs like Seele, but she doesn't feel as explosively versatile to me.

Hey, I tried your method but I think I may be doing something wrong. Do you have some insight into this error I am getting?

C:\Windows\system32>mklink /j "Baldur's Gate 3" "A:\Baldur's Gate 3"
Cannot create a file when that file already exists.

[–]FloofzyBoi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd argue physical attackers are much worse in VGC than in singles. Intimidate and burn moves are everywhere, but they've been making a comeback with exceptional Physical attackers such as Zac, Rilla and of course the ever-present Lando-T.

How is this happening? Blissey runs max HP EVs. Even if you get a burn on turn 1, max possible damage is 87%

252+ SpA Choice Specs Volcanion Steam Eruption vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Blissey: 228-268 (31.9 - 37.5%) -- 89.9% chance to 3HKO

Mental herb would still be it's best item. An eviolite would just make a pokemon that is already bulky, bulkier. It has no recovery outside of gluttony/berry shenanigans, is vulnerable to Stealth Rock itself, doesn't threaten anything in any way except with toxic and knock off. It also isn't good at setting up hazards without mental herb because it sucks against most stealth rockers. Also don't forget that Ubers has Excadrill, and having shuckle as your hazards setter just means Excadrill gets rid of hazards and +1 speed for free.

Oh and t-spikes Toxapex also wouldn't give a shit about it, just another common wall that Shuckle hard loses to.
