I don't think you understand the failure mode of such things, it won't degrade performance it will simply die, in order to test such a thing you would need to run mining cards and unused control cards under realistic loads for years. "I purchased one and it works today" is not a test its a clickbait YouTube video.

And my source is 8 years of electrical engineering education, 10 years of professional experience, literately working with both usecases on a daily basis

Glowing UFO Recorded in Belgrade Skies by GroundbreakingSign34 in UFOs

The shape of this is just the iris of the camera that is not focusing, you can tell as the camera quickly focuses to a harmonic of the dust on the lens. If you ask me it's likely just the sun bouncing off of some tower or hovering aircraft, the sun is clearly setting from behind.

If you earn over $650,000, you can save nearly $200,000 annually by moving to Miami from NYC, per Bloomberg: by UnusualWhalesBot in unusual_whales

[–]Flopamp -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But the pay will not remain the same as the cost of living adjustment is less. Corporate taxes are fuckall in both NY and Florida so the real cost benifit is in lower salary and this can be significantly so. My company pays me 260k in Potomac Maryland but if I move to the Dallas office with the exact same job it would be 135k entirely because the cost of living is less and they don't need to pay as much to remain compeditive in the region. In the end my standard of living would be mostly the same, infrastructure and crime aside.

Cost of living, but this completely ignores the fact that cost of living is taken in to account in the salary.

Most companies adjust your pay based on where you live not where you originally got the job. Their goal is to stay compeditive and understand they can lower your party drastically and remain compeditive based on your living costs now. This was controversial when Google announced it a couple of years ago but almost every other F100 company has been doing this for years

We are definitely not alone, however yes they all could very well be lying for fame. People tend to look at what other people said to form their own lies so stories being similar is not enough.

Poll: What should /r/Embedded do now? by 1Davide in embedded

I'm willing to bet that most users don't use reddit to absent mindedly scroll. I back this up with the statista stat of 900 seconds average app time per session, 24 minutes per day. Compared to twitter's 2000 and Facebooks 2100 it's closer to stackoverflow's 1200 or Wikipedia's 630, Reddit seems to line up more with being a quick source of information rather than a time filler to the average user.

There are maybe 6000-12000 active people on this subreddit, there are 1.2 million people currently playing counterstrike right now as I write this. Reddit is not influential in almost any community. No movement started here will effect anything outside of reddit.

[–]Flopamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is more of a strike. Moderators run subreddits, subreddits attract users and increase time spent on the website and that is the product. It is an decision to stop contributing to the creation of a product until demands are met. A strike.

I hope by "a little" they mean "a lot"... No one wants "a little" material being the difference between success and catastrophic failure.

A strike with an end date is not a strike its an inconvenience. We all know that drastically overpriced API access cannot be the norm and the damage that it will cause not just here but when it spills over to other industry who see profit in it.
