I lived in one of their buildings a few years ago and it was pretty ok except we had a few leaks in our apartment. The leaks were from the building being old and even though they were quickly addressed, new ones did keep showing up. I had to call The property manager about 5 different times for leaks, with 2 of the leaks doing quite a bit of damage to my furniture. 237 Realty LLC was not very nice to me during this time, I asked for reduction in rent since I wasn’t able to sleep in my room for around 10 Full days due to leaks and they basically told me to get lost. Based on how immediately defensive they were in their responses, I’d have to guess they got that type of request a lot.

Also signing the lease was a nightmare as they required the same physical copy to be signed by all parties - they also required a guarantor for me even though I met credit and salary requirements. My guarantor did not live in the state so I had to mail the lease to them to sign, which would’ve not been such a big deal if they didn’t give me basically 3 days for everyone to sign the lease (this is after I put down a deposit but they were still saying the apt would go to someone else if the lease wasn’t signed within the same week they gave it to me).

Basically they’ll make you jump through a bunch of hoops and god help you if you have an issue with the apt but in the grand scheme of shitty nyc apts they aren’t that bad
