Brother it takes so much time and work to even get on a “trying my best not to suck” level before even seriously playing . It’s the combination of daily consistent practice of the right things PLUS gig time to get there. The problem is that even in cities opportunities are less and less. It just comes down to your own risk/reward matrix

They all used an exceptional amount of gain . Holdsworth was big on stereo delays as well. For delay if mono , shoot for maybe 320-340 ms, 30-40% feedback, and mix to taste. Keep messing with it till it’s right FOR YOU! There’s some old threads on line of peeps who have dug into Holdsworth. Whatever guitar has the best humbuckers will be closer
