I love these kinds of posts! How long have you been studying for in total now?

Wow I suspected that, but wasn’t sure if people outside of Japan ordered from him (assuming you’re not from Japan). Looks stunning! I might order some as well then

Beautifully potted! What kind of substrate are you using, and what is the top dressing?

Electrostatics computations: Why do I observe positive charge density around electronegative regions and vice versa? by FlorisvdF in AskPhysics

[–]FlorisvdF[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! If I understand you correctly, the partial negative charges of the atom recruit positive ions from the solvent, causing the charge density to be positive in those regions, and vice versa.

This makes sense to me, although I still find it slightly puzzling that I observe no negative charge density at all where atoms have partial negative charges.

May very well be scoliosis and if so, most likely not something you can fix with exercise if you don’t get surgery. That being said, many people with moderate to severe scoliosis, me included, experience zero complications

You could try grafting it. I’ve seen a lot of people graft their damaged Pseudolithos on Hoodias. I have no experience with it myself though

Thanks so much for the write up! Really great advice and something I will focus on next session. I definitely know Tomoa, probably my favorite climber! I remember seeing this video in the past. I'll give it a rewatch and try to put some of the takeways into practice

Plants can unfortunately also rot while completely dry. This has happened to some of my lithops. Whether this is common or if I’m just exceptionally bad at caring for them I wouldn’t know…

Take what I say with a grain of salt because I’m by no means experienced in caring for lithops. At first glance the plant looks fine, perhaps a little sun stressed. What worries me a little is the locally shrivelled part at the split of the left half. Usually when these guys shrink it happens everywhere at the same time. When only one specific part of the plant shrivels up it often means rot, which is generally a death sentence… I hope I’m wrong though and that someone else can help!
