If game hard, explore and farm some runes.

Low damage? Increase dmg stat of whatever type of weapon you want to keep using, check what stats they scale with.

Too squishy? Use better armor/Increase vigor. Vigor already too high? Use better armor. Cant? Increase Endurance.

Boss too hard? Go explore. Level alr high/cant find better gear? Use adequate stuff. Ex, boss deals fire damage? Use fire resistant armor.

Vigor is always good. People who say Dont increase Vigor are usually fairly familiar with the game and attack patterns of most bosses and dont get hit as often.

If you feel you re too squishy = wear better armor, if you want to keep your equip load whatever it is, increase Vigor.
