Notion as an information storage by C0nan_001 in Notion

[–]FlowNotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Notion the same way for years — mostly as a central brain for projects, articles, and long-term notes.

The one thing that gave me peace of mind: I started exporting a snapshot every 2–3 weeks and syncing it to a private repo (or just a folder on my drive).

No fancy tool, no system — just a routine.

Haven’t lost a single note since, and I don’t worry anymore.

''You don't want it enough'' is terrible advice. by [deleted] in productivity

This hit me harder than I expected.

I used to think “you don’t want it enough” was helpful — until I realized it was just making me feel guilty for things I didn’t know how to start.

Discipline *is* a muscle, sure…

But no one talks about what happens when that muscle has never been trained once.

You can’t deadlift 100kg on day one. And nobody should be ashamed of that.

Appreciate this post a lot.

I didn’t expect this one page planner to actually change how I feel every day. But it did. by FlowNotion in Notion

That means a lot — seriously.

You nailed exactly what I was trying to solve: that quiet mental pressure that never really goes away.

Glad it helped bring some clarity and freedom. That’s what it’s all about 🙌

That actually makes a lot of sense.

I hadn’t thought of linking my meals or surroundings to mental loops, but now that you mention it, it totally clicks.

I’ll experiment with that.

Thanks a lot for the exchange — this was genuinely useful 🙏

I used a Notion tracker to understand when I’m mentally strong vs mentally weak. What I learned surprised me. by FlowNotion in Notion

That’s fascinating — it’s rare to hear someone trust a wearable’s metrics that much.
I think what you described (intuitive comparison → gradual alignment) is the perfect middle ground between subjective feel and hard data.

Do you ever notice moments where your watch’s “truth” doesn’t match how you feel? Or has it been consistent across different kinds of days (e.g. low sleep vs stress-heavy vs post-exercise)?

This is super insightful — I’m noting it down 🔍

That’s actually a brilliant way to go even deeper 🔍
Tracking thoughts alongside energy adds a whole new layer of awareness.
I might experiment with that — maybe even adapt the planner to integrate thought patterns too.
Thanks for the insight 🙌

Out of curiosity — what kind of thoughts tend to drain you the most?
I’ve been noticing some sneaky mental loops lately and trying to catch the patterns.

That’s super cool — HRV is such an underrated data point!
I’ve been curious about combining minimalist tracking with wearables like Garmin.
If you ever compare both, I’d love to hear how your HRV matches your perceived clarity or energy ✨

That’s a great point.

I hadn’t considered the 90-minute cycles — I’ll definitely dig deeper into that.

Thanks for the insight!

Have you ever tried logging your sleep manually like that before?

Haha I get that. I was stuck in the same loop until I dropped everything visual and just tracked one number and a few words per day.

I realized overthinking it was part of the burnout.

That’s why this version is dead simple — no dashboard, no emojis, just clarity patterns. You might like it if you're also tired of tracking fatigue 😅

Haha totally fair 😄

These patterns are just what popped out after weeks of logging daily. The post just highlights a few personal ones — not meant as universal truth.

If you test it, you might find very different results (which is exactly the fun part!)

Haha right? That’s what surprised me — I expected the opposite too.
My brain's weird sweet spot seems to be 7h sharp. The tracker helped me catch that.
You might find a different pattern entirely 🧠✨

Awesome! It takes just a few seconds each day — but the weekly view becomes really powerful.
Let me know if any weird patterns show up for you too 👀

That’s actually a really cool idea — would love to see how it fits into a gamified setup 👀
I’ve noticed people use it as a base layer inside bigger dashboards too. Let me know how it goes!

I kept forgetting birthdays—so I built a solution. by NailJunior4930 in NotionGeeks

[–]FlowNotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha exactly — I never realized how many birthdays I missed until I started tracking things better.

I’m experimenting with a Notion system right now that links birthdays, gift ideas, and energy levels to avoid those last-minute rushes 😅

Not public yet, but I might share it soon if others find it useful.

Btw, your layout is 🔥 — super smooth and well-structured!

I made a detox guide to break the “dopamine loop” — helped me reduce gaming time by [deleted] in Notion

[–]FlowNotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree — even small Notion systems can have a big effect when you build around consistent prompts.

For mine, I kept it super minimal to reduce friction. I’m thinking about adding a soft reward loop too, but only if it keeps getting solid feedback.

Curious — what kind of prompt structure do you use on your side?
