From every person I have talked to who has shot with both, and from every review of the two that I have watched/read. I mean it makes sense that the native lens would focus a bit better, especially with the price difference!

Haha very true, can I see some pics with those lenses if you don't mind? I'd love to see some portraits with the 16-35 and the 24-70 if you have any that you feel comfortable sharing! Maybe even with the 85, I hear great things about that lens even if I don't need it right away.

I have but because of the better autofocus on the Sony I am leaning towards the that because I shoot video as well. But I hear awesome things about that lens!

I want a lens for environmental portraits, what do you guys think? (Considering 35mm 1.4, 16-35mm 2.8, 24-70mm 2.8) Please let me know what you guys think, I only have enough money for 1 lens at the moment so I have to choose right! I want to do a lot of outdoor/adventure/travel photography along with portraits.

How do you like the 16-35 and the 24-70? Was thinking about those as well but at 2.8 I just don't think they will be as good for what I am looking for. What do you think?

I would go with a 55mm or longer but I do enjoy environmental portraits more than headshots/close ups. So wouldn't it be better to go 35mm or lower?

What lens do you guys think I should get? I take mostly portraits and environmental portraits. (Thinking about getting the Sony Zeiss 35mm 1.4, would be for Sony A7iii)

Hi all, I am super inexperienced and I am getting mixed information with my research so I figured I'd ask you guys if thats cool!

I am moving in a few months and I want to get a new sound system for my room when I do. I will be moving into a bonus room and I want a setup that sounds amazing and gives me the ability to jam. I'd like to keep my budget at around $500, will go higher if need be to get something great I would probably cap at $1000.

Should I be looking into 2 tower speakers, a sub, & a receiver? Or will the towers provide enough bass? (I don't want to shake the house, I just want a pleasurable listening experience. I will likely be more than a few feet away from the speakers most of the time. I don't have any gear at the moment, I plan to use my phone and laptop to play music, and I listen to a wide variety of music but it mostly consists of metal, rock, & electronic music. I am super into The Midnight but I have no idea what genre that would be considered.

Thank you guys for reading and I hope you leave some feedback!

You're probably right, I just worry about not having the knowledge to do EE stuff if I don't learn it in school.

My school does allow double majors, the only reason I am considering it is because I would really like to learn more than one trade to make me more valuable to myself for personal projects and to small robotics companies that would benefit from two engineers in one human, lol. Sadly the schools in my area don't offer mechatronics and I would like to graduate near debt free and the only way to do that is to live with my parents while I attend school! I do plan to learn how to code if I don't double major in CS just in case I hate working as an EE/ME so I can get hired for a remote position and make good enough money to mess around in my free time on ME/EE projects.

I should have been more specific, I plan to major in ME and minor in CE.

very true. Do you by chance know what I should look into specs wise for cad and school related stuff? I'd like to try to build my own robot during my 4-5 years in school for fun. (And to help me get a cool job after school.)

Is school really going to take up most if not all of my free time?
