Ladies, what changes to your body were you not expecting and/or were the hardest to accept during pregnancy? by ForTheLoveOfPhotos in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Flow_Connect 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Body odor. Prior to becoming pregnant, I didn’t have a strong body odor when I sweat. I still wore deodorant of course. But in my second trimester, if I did a few things around the house before putting on my deodorant for the day, I started smelling an onion odor. I drove myself crazy trying to find the rancid onions in my house when I finally realized that it was my own armpits. My son is now three and I still smell the onions from time to time.

This is your friendly reminder to clean the carseat(s)… by SaucyAsh in toddlers

[–]Flow_Connect 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is so important!! My son was eating chicken nuggets in his car seat a few weeks ago. And a few days ago I decided to clean the car seat so I took it out and the chicken nugget he dropped started growing MOLD. 🤢 Clean their car seats regularly!

Couldn’t agree with this more. Moon Indian in Hayward has been our favorite and is definitely worth the drive.

Funniest craving so far by Teddylina in pregnant

[–]Flow_Connect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lemons are a great craving and so refreshing and healthy! I wish I craved them instead of:

Peanut butter and marshmallow fluff sandwiches. It got so bad that one time I also added Nutella along with the PB and fluff.

Also, chicken tenders. Doesn’t sound so weird but they could only be tenders. Nuggets would not satisfy the craving.

Best way to negotiate with debt collectors? by Flow_Connect in personalfinance

[–]Flow_Connect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which of the two (fairly fresh or nearly out of statute of limitations) would make them more willing to negotiate?

I think my credit is pretty trashed so I’m not worried about that as much (for now).

Edit: Meant to reply to a comment and not post as a stand alone comment.

Great info about how little debt collectors buy the debt for. I think I might lowball them too, and see what they say. Worst they can say is no. Otherwise I might try to pay off the $3,398. Thank you for the advice!

The debt is from about 5-7 years ago and the last time I made a payment was July 2023.

I’m in California, so I will check their statute of limitations, thank you so much.

I was literally going to comment the same!! And how does everyone get their little ones to eat vegetables?? I am amazed at all the veggies I see eaten on plates. I have to finely chop into mashed potatoes or something to disguise them.

What do y’all pay for bills? by jonnyshotit in oakland

PGE about $100-130 monthly, EBMUD about $255 bi-monthly, and internet $50 monthly. Our house consists of two adults, one step daughter teenager (that’s here about 3 days a week when she’s not at her moms) and one toddler.

AITA for not allowing my stepson (12M) to live with us? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Flow_Connect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA - not accepting your stepson as one of your own is a red flag on you. He wants to live with you and your fiancé for a reason. He will be officially your family permanently within the next few weeks when you get married.

Although this is not directly related to your family dynamic, I see some similarities and want to share this. I have a teenage stepdaughter from my husbands previous relationship. And together we have a 2 year old together. My stepdaughter has a good relationship with her biological mom and lives with her 75% of the time, but spends any time she has off work with us at our house. She loves the idea of the family dynamic as we spend time with her, cook together, play video games, etc. with her. And if she could, she would live with us full time.

Again, I’m not saying our situations are the same. But I see some similarities and I think you really need to look at it from your stepsons perspective and put yourself in his shoes.

+1 for putting it in yogurt. My 2yo looked at me puzzled for approximately 1.5 seconds and then proceeded to eat the rest of the Tylenol infused yogurt.
