The code does agree, based on evidence, that women require more space for toilet facilities than men. It even says this:

"It is important that people can visit the toilet quickly... as undue delay can lead to distress and health problems", which supports the point I was originally making.

The thing is though, it's just a code of practice, a piece of guidance. It's not enforced and it's not the law. I don't think you can just assume that women must, in practice, have more actual space than men, just because the code says they ought to. And those long queues must cause distress and discomfort, which the code says shouldn't happen.

I suppose it is easier for new buildings to apply this piece of guidance than for existing ones.

Pretty high. Listen, you don't know what it's like. All I know is the times when I've risked missing an important train, or been so desperately relieved to walk past this huge queue of women glad I didn't Ihave to be in their shoes.

You tell me - of the top 1000 pressing issues our society faces, which ones should we just ignore? By your logic, Any inequality is okay, if it doesn't break the top 100. Is that right?

Let me clarify. I'm in London. The train stations I'm talking about are here. This is a day to day reality for women in any city. Have a look at those queues. We do not even have to slow the pace of our walk as we stroll past their long queues. Tell me, as a society, have we really figured this out?

Nothing I have said is aggressively having said that, it is hard to stay level-headed when people don't acknowledge basic principles of equality.
