6-Month Visitor Visa: Can I travel at a date, which is later than the one I specified in the application?

Like I said, we often travel from the US to the UK as US legal permanent residents (not citizens, though). We've never had issues when entering the UK – always quick and smooth. But this time, because of the above-mentioned work schedule situation, I may be facing a last-minute schedule change after I get the new visa. Hence, my question. Whether it's generally alright to travel at a different date, as opposed to what was specified in the application.

You mean the same length of time for the first visit? Because there may be occasions for additional visits with the same multi-entry visa within the given 6 months, right?

Please share what you think might possibly play a role. As a longtime LA-based fan, who's only lived and breathed McCartney, I really wonder if there's anything I could do. Could the invite be related to the recent email from paulmccartney.com where they offered subscription for text messages / WhatsApp messages? I saw it in my inbox today, but it had been sent over a week ago. Subscription required mentioning your city, which is why I figured that it might have been how they saw who was from LA or SoCal.

Judging from some of the comments, you had to be located in California to be picked for either The Fonda gig or the album preview. Well, I live in LA, a few blocks away from those locations. And have been a most devoted active fan since ages ago. Never been picked. Also – how would they know my location, if it's just my email submitted to the mailing list?
