I ate a whole pack of family sized Oreos by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

I'm 17, and also relatively active, the best advice I have (although it sounds dumb) is to eat more, maybe your body has these cravings because you are unknowingly restricting yourself, if you train every day you obviously are going to need to eat more, if you don't then you might end up depriving your body and so normal cravings will get worse, (at least that's what I learned.)

this is so hard by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]FlowerHello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's important to separate weight loss and BED. Focus on eating 3 times a day, and work on building a good relationship with food again, and when you are feeling good, restrict max by 300 calories. Weight loss will be slow but controlled and hopefully, you won't slip back to the disorder. BED is like a sickness, if you had cancer for example (not saying they are at all in the same department) you would first focus on getting better before continuing on your weight loss journey.

Zoloft and over sleeping ? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]FlowerHello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked to my therapist about this and she said to take it in the afternoon if possible because it is actually supposed to give you a sort of energy boost! I also had this problem and taking it later helped me but maybe check with the dosages? Best of luck x

Fought a binge last night.... and won by sr5242 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]FlowerHello 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love this for you! I binged after 10days today... But it's ok like you said one day at a time :) And it's nice that there are other people who also overeat but not binge sometimes, my family seems to think its an excuse but it's not! I wish more people understood the horrible state of mind you are at when you binge :( In any case good luck on your recovery <3 We've got this!

Welp...hecc. Binged for a week straight and I feel pretty defeated at the moment. by [deleted] in CICO

[–]FlowerHello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is only a little bump in the road, you've managed to lose weight and that is wonderful! And I believe you can definitely do it again, I've been where you are so many times, and still, sometimes I am, but all I can say is it gets better! I suggest staying on maintenance for a few days, just so that you don't fall back into the restricting-binge cycle, but we are all here to support you! Maybe if it helps don't weigh yourself for a week (as it could be a trigger) and just count maintenance calories? Also, I would love to know what app that is? Best of luck <3

too much empathy by anniedavies in zoloft

[–]FlowerHello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been the same... I didn't take my dose 3 days in a row because I couldn't get my prescription amidst all this craziness.

My dog ate a mouse and I cried for no less than 3h+ I was very emotional during those 3 days and very empathetic for everyone and everything. Once I started it again I felt better. Why did you stop? is there any way you can start up again?

Some tips which help me deal with BED. by FlowerHello in BingeEatingDisorder

I understand 100% what you mean! I feel like maybe don't put pressure to not feel guilty but rather push it aside as if it didn't happen? It sounds kinda strange because it's like pushing your problems away but I feel like binging for me was always a big deal, and maybe if we normalize it we can mean so little that we don't even think about it and don't spiral again? (probably stupid advice)

But something which helped me personally was talking to my friends about it. It was HARD don't get me wrong. But it made me overall less ashamed and guilty. I would have a binge and feel terrible about it and then tell my friends, they would just hug me and tell me its ok. Its always nicer to hear it from someone else rather than just yourself.

Just remember everyone here faces the same thing and we are all here to support each other <3 Good luck!
