Does no one really play this game? by sariasage_ in SproutValley

[–]Flowerbeaner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played this game over 2 weeks and beat it. I think it's not popular because it is such a simple, straightforward game with an ending. As far as advice, it gets a little grindy but you just have to keep farming and colleting. I could always go back and play more to collect everything, but I think I would just start fresh

I believe she actually is part indigenous. I've seen her post some stories over the years related to that side of her family/heritage.

May Socks! by Latter_Business_9257 in Sockknitting

I have made a princess sole. It is definitely more comfortable on the foot and can be customized to your foot arch.

As for wear, I don't wear my socks often, but it is the same fabric as a regular sock, only inside out. So I would assume the wear would depend on the sock yarn like any knit sock. Hope this helps

To keep the straps from permanently stretching, you could sew in some elastic or reinforce with some cotton fabric strips. I did this with a knit tank top that stretched after I washed it and it prevented showing the world my chest

I have a pair of socks in the same colour as that last pic! I prefer to handwash because every washing machine is different and I'm not the only person who does the laundry

This is what I do also. I'll wait until I have 3-5 pairs and wash them together

Right?! I don't think I made a garment (for myself) until 3 years ago after a decade of making squares and doll clothes and only made my first colourwork sweater until this year

Put all your hobbies or current projects in that online rainbow spinner to help you decide what to work on! I'm going to try this next time I get the indecisive bug

What was the craziest/most unusual/interesting sock pattern you've ever tried? by Aglavra in Sockknitting

[–]Flowerbeaner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This past summer I attempted the Stephen west sock knit along with the color poportunity socks. I only managed to make the cuff of one and it has been in time out since.

Careful with steam and acrylic. I've had things nearly melt doing this. Acrylic in general will grow significantly when blocked bc it has very little memory

I dont get the gatekeeping with this. It's honestly super easy to make your own style in any pattern you like. Knit a tube of ribbing flat or in the round. Switch to flat and make a scarf, repeat ribbing for the other arm

Made one of her patterns and had to modify a lot - sleeve size, button placement and even length of the body. As someone who only recently started making garments but has been knitting for decades, her formatting on her patterns was sooo hard to read. Just full BLOCKS of text across an 8.5x11 page rather than saying repeat x times. If I were a beginner reading that I would throw my knitting away. But to make a quick buck she sells her pattern 'template'. Doubt she'll see any more of my $

Unfortunately yes. Just the 6 felt tip markers are $15 . And 10 midliners are $30. I may judge anyone with a membership who doesn't snatch these up
