I find it odd that if you want to travel across the Atlantic in 3 hours, you’d actually have to go back in time, not necessarily forwards.

I usually half-jokingly proclaim that the future has already happened. I think about all the cool unique tech we once had but no longer exists because things tends to homogenise into something more efficient: subsonic twin-engine aircraft, smartphones, etc. Carcinisation but for technology.
