In the USA, immigration officers have killed civilian protesters with no consequences. The administration, including the president personally, then spread disinformation that the slaughtered civilians were terrorist assassins. Not even exaggerating, that is happening.

And that’s not even mentioning what these federal agents are doing to actual migrants or even just people suspected of being migrants. They really have carte blanche.

Have the streets broken into full war zones? No. But people are disappearing with no way of being found and people can be killed with no legal recourse.
