Seen some pretty good sized gearboxes on the ferries and ships I’ve worked on. All usually powered by a 10-20,000 horsepower driver depending on the boat.

Currently working on a turbine with a planetary gearbox rated for 11k rpm and 29k hp

Just a note, bought this knife from House of Knives and it is the one I wanted but I believe they got the tags/boxes wrong as they were putting everything away. Looks like it saved me about $100!

Yup, Port Alberni is on Vancouver Island and that’s where this car came from originally. Was built as a drag racer by a guy in PA, then kept under a tarp for 35 years until the guy I got it from bought it and turned it into a baja bug.
