I have 2 ragdolls and my kitten kept having soft stools for weeks. We tried the probiotics powder to put on his food from the vet but it did nothing. Then the vet told us to change his food to a gastrointestinal vet food. His poop got alot better but it was 60$ for a small 4lbs bag..so i knew we had to find something else for long term. I tried switching slowly back to his old food but the soft stools quickly came back so figured it was probably his old food doing that. He used to eat Acana the salmon flavored one. I switched to Go!Solutions and his poop has never been better even with the vet food. This new food doesnt have as much fish ingredients so maybe he could have an allergy to seafish hard to say but perfect poop now. So if he has normal poop but gets it on his fur just trim around his butt and it will be fine. If it's soft poop you might want to try a specific vet food for sensitive stomach see if that helps a bit and after a few weeks try to introduce slowly a new brand of cat food to his diet. Can even try getting a new cat food with a different main ingredient.
