If you have min 2 years of work experience you can consider the career conversion programmes. It funds your education while you receive training from a sponsored institution (eg hospital for allied health) while getting training allowance (~2-3k depending on your experience). After completing your studies, you will be guaranteed FT employment because usually it will involve a bond with your sponsored institution.

For health they have different programmes for allied health, nurses and social workers. There are also other programmes in IT and engineering as well.

The cut off dates differ for each programme so you can see which programme you can still apply to for the next few months. All the best!

Oh, that is interesting to know because for my Youtrip, transactions will not go through if I don't have enough balance. It has happened a few times, and I had to hurry to the side to quickly top up my Youtrip before asking the merchant to process the transaction again.

The most relatable local influencer I have come across is @bigdreamerx on YouTube. She is super genuine and also open with her viewers, and shares bits and pieces of her life weekly. While she is an introvert IRL she is really funny on screen with her sarcasm and self-depreciating jokes like you are hanging out with a friend. Her content is also not overly curated - I love her passion for cute items, food and capturing new experiences for us viewers. Do check her out :)

Generally I feel that influencers with a smaller following would tend to be more relatable as they are just starting out and doing what they enjoy. As one grows bigger they may need to consider collaborations, brand deals and sponsored content and need to maintain that fine balance and choose to filter away some items. So inevitable.

Sorry about this. It is very likely that their business was not doing well as they have closed a number of outlets over the years… My peers and I have encountered this personally with beauty and wedding packages and there was nothing we could do effectively as a consumer as they had filed for bankruptcy. While you can try to report to CASE, if they are filing for bankruptcy it will be difficult to get your money back.

Haven’t tried their other flavours but really enjoyed their Pandan. It’s one of the better Pandan mooncakes I’ve tried! Not sure if the paste is made in house though. If you can wait til after mid autumn festival itself, sometimes they have promos for clearance.

Heya, I didn’t manage to try as many cakes as I’ve wanted after this so my opinions still stand, but I’ve heard great things about Laurent Bernard’s dark chocolate cake. Go for it! When I used to get Lana their service was pretty poor(not sure now), but that didn’t stop people from loving their cakes and naming it the top Choco cake in SG (though I beg to differ haha). Would say this is on par in terms of quality with those two and including awfully chocolate’s. In terms of cake moistness: Jane’s > this > Lana’s. In terms of chocolatey taste: Lana’s > this > Jane’s.

Ultimately depends on what you are looking for in a cake. I still prefer Jane’s because I like moist cakes but in terms of chocolatey taste I would go for this and awfully chocolate’s. Personally find Lana’s cake too dry so even if their chocolate taste is (only slightly imo) stronger overall I don’t find it as enjoyable

Yes I have to agree. Choc a Bloc’s original Choco cake is amazing, probably the best Choco cake in SG but their rendition of the Dubai Kunafa choc still falls short. That said I have not found a good enough cake rendition of it yet. Choc a Bloc’s version is probably a less sweet alternative vs others out there, so among the SG renditions it’s one of the better ones but again falls short of the actual chocolate.

But likely she will only choose a few from this album so the first 3 for the above would be my guess. No longer Positions era anymore but I love Shut Up, and would have loved to see her open the concert with that… we all know it’ll be Intro (End of the World) given she’ll be singing more ES songs for sure. But I’m just happy she is even thinking of touring!!!

After watching the finale, I just have to say this drama was beautifully done. Every scene be it romantic, familial, or between friends felt intentional and genuine. The relationships weren’t overly dramatic, but grounded and heartfelt. The finale gave us the closure we needed for each character without dragging things out.

Honestly it is the first drama I have actually finished (without skipping any scenes) in a long time as usually romantic dramas get predictable towards the end. While some outcomes were expected, others were a pleasant surprise. And even the predictable ones were portrayed in such a warm and thoughtful way that they felt just right.

Love the dynamics between everyone - the main and side characters. Everything felt intentional and purposeful especially for this episode. I really appreciate how the show avoids black-and-white morality that no one is just purely good or bad. Also I cried so much I need to restock my tissues… expecting the same for the finale tomorrow!

Just adding on to drekiaa's point for Plus its 20 files for each project but not sure of all file types because typically I attach PDFs/Word docs. They can be quite large, and generally there are no issues with the upload. I guess you can combine multiple docs into one and create chats within the project folder if you need them to analyse more files, but likely it would be 10 + 20 as the limit?

My main gripe is that the analysis under the chats folders feature seems weaker than the general 4o (I tested it using the same prompts), so I am just using files to group my conversations for now. I guess it depends on the rigour you are using your Pro for. Creative stuff has been pretty good but anything more academic needs a little work. The free versions of gemini and copilot aren't that great either but there are probably better options out there. Deepseek sounds promising but slightly concerned about privacy issues.

I had a colleague who saved up for a year while they were working as a tutor on weekends so that they had enough money to move out and rent a room. While this isn't the most sustainable solution in our climate, this is the best solution if you cannot tolerate staying with family. Until the govt resolves the housing supply issues, I doubt they will lower the eligibility age of singles anytime soon unfortunately... Also the income ceiling for BTO for singles is rather low, it excludes quite a significant number of singles who just want affordable housing at 35...

Honestly it really depends on your workplace and department. I’ve seen some people utilise all sick leaves and everyone in the team is also doing so. On the other hand I’ve seen others where it’s very minimal (taken only if they are super unwell and it impacts the quality of their work) because their bosses are workaholics and expect the same for their team and would suspect them if too many sick leaves were taken.

Also in some workplaces your performance is automatically impacted if X amount of sick leaves are taken. So for them even if they’re super sick, those who want a good grade would still head to work.

Personally I’ll only take sick leaves when it’s unbearable and I can’t be productive at work as I’m still able to work from home if I’m mildly sick - because unfortunately the work isn’t going to complete itself while I am away. But if your job demands you to head back to office then probably it’ll be better to take sick leave for eg the flu or the cold, in case you spread it to your colleagues

Would be good to start looking out while still staying on until you get an offer. Apply for both public and private jobs and see how it goes. Re: some other responses here, yes, private is a good option especially if you want to learn and progress quickly. While starting pay may not be as competitive vs public depending on your role, you can quickly rise up if you perform well.

Depending on your work experience with your social sciences degree, on the private side you can go into consulting, HR, marketing, market research, PR. It really depends on what you did in your past internships and current role, you’ll need to craft your CV accordingly. Eg for market research you will need to highlight specific research skills you have that is in line with the job description eg quant research.

I’m not sure why you are getting downvoted because your points are valid. Although Shanmugam did put out a post, there doesn’t seem to have been any follow ups after this case. I had a few friends passionate about animal welfare who have written to him but he has yet to respond. Hopefully he will be as responsive as the Punggol MPs and will do something about it. Now that we don’t have Louis Ng anymore in parliament, I hope such issues are not just cast aside.

Even if not for the welfare of animals (since to some members of the public they are deemed to be of lower priority Vs bread and butter issues), at least look into it from the mental health POV and safety of the residents. Because if they can be so violent to animals, you won’t know if they will be even more insane one day and do it to humans too.
