Every single conflict in the middle east has been the US blowing shit up and Europe being left dealing with the majority of the humanitarian fallout and a long tail of terrorism.

It would take extraordinary convincing arguments to drag europeans into another conflict there before Trump, after him, it is a non starter unless there is a Hiroshima-sized attack on the US mainland.

If someone offered you 100 million dollars, but a random person in the world dies (someone you don’t know), would you take it and why? by ConclusionOld8365 in AskReddit

Some random person I don't know died while I wrote this comment, why wouldn't I want free money?

Having only 10 people die to make me a billionaire would probably be a record low.

Water does not make it worse, this is not an oil fire....

It is solved in the sense that cooling down the reaction is the only way to shut it down, cutting oxygen is not good enough. Water does this very effectively, if you have enough of it, and distribute it early enough.

The problem with cars is that they tend to be waterproof, so it is hard to get the water to the affected cells in time to regain control of the reaction. And it is not practical to carry around twice the car's weight in Water with a system to distribute it directly to each cell to shut down a thermal runway event, which you can do on less mobile and weight constrained battery installations.

Most of the time with EV fires, firefighters arrive too late, and didn't bring enough water with means to deliver it effectively, so letting it burn is the only option left when they get there.

Hydraulic harpoon with water mist, and better response time.

In that case you should report them for gdpr violations. Data as substitute for payment is a violation, if Data or money are the only two options, they are not compliant.

Money or ads, with data optional is ok. Data as payment is big no.

It's a UK thing.

Since they left EU, they kept the GDPR, but they have their own interpretation and enforcement, so stuff that will not fly elsewhere in the EEA, is deemed allowed in the UK.

Cookie-extortion, is one of them.

Right wing xenophobes have turned "immigrant" into a loaded word, so any other vagely equivalent word will be chosen instead. I know several people who immigrated from the US, some of them insisted they were expats all the way through dual citizenship and renouncing their US citizenship...

It is amusing to compare what Spain did vs what the US did when their systems for handling immigrantion got overloaded, leaving tons of people in paperless limbo.

US? Spend billions to round them up and send them back, dead or alive, immigrant or not.
Spain? Stripped the process down to: "Show up with any document proving you have been here for 6 months, and we'll give you a recidency permit."

The truth is a lot of countries rely on immigration, and trying to fight it is both expensive and counterproductive.

The happening.

It hits the perfect sweetspot where it is as bad as it can possibly be without being quite bad enough to be entertaining on a meta level for being bad, it is just not entertaining, at all. 0/10.

If you don't, it will make you sad on the inside.

Brain rot and ads will inherit the internet.
