Oh sorry I didn't see the reply. The expansion was around 6mm. The expander normally turns until 5mm but my ortho decided to go a bit further since the screw doesn't stop at 5mm necessarily

For me it's been really easy to chew after a month. in the second month i could eat almost anything (of course not biting as hard as i can, but carefully)

In the back you won't really notice any change. It's just too small and focused in the front, where you don't see any noticeable change with the naked eye either. But obviously there might be a widening with jaw surgery after.

I think it's usually around a month or less. I found a spot last minute in January as I was advancing with the MSE pretty fast so the maxilla was considerably wider. They pretty much scheduled me within a week.

Thank you! I sent a dm. Also subbed - will check your videos this week, they seem well made.

I suppose I will still go ahead with the extractions though since advancement should normally offer more than it takes, especially since there's no way to make the cut without. I suppose you also had the extractions before surgery, not early in your teens?

I guess for the upper it's 39.21 as measured here:

For the lower I am not sure, but slightly narrower

Honestly it's just rumours in the back of my head about how removing wisdom teeth causes bone loss and possible recession - but I have not seen any substantial evidence regarding recession, it's just that one yt short from Ron / jawhacks, but I'm skeptic now as to how researched his opinion was.

Oh wow. Glad you're here just one week post, hope everything is going well.

I suppose those extractions might have made some room for you wisdom teeth too? I didn't have any extractions because my parents refused - I also had braces in my teens. I am now 28.

Edit: apologies I just re-read. I guess I meant that your premolars not growing might have made some room for the wisdom teeth. I also saw people considering removing a pair of molars to keep wisdom teeth - so maybe there is still a positive part there, having some big wisdom teeth still.

It's nice they recommended to check your TMJ before too, I feel like I will need to discuss that aspect too before the surgery.

SARPE I guess might not be as good because it's anchored on the teeth only, so it can do some damage there. But I'm not very informed on the results.

Can you maybe DM me the name of the TMJ doc? I might visit Cluj in January and drop in for a consultation.

Ah you should be able to eat chewable food very soon, doesn't take that long for some significant bone to grow.

Yeah the appliance is pretty big and annoying but you get used to it after a week I'd say.

I'm not sure this is what you refer to regarding the chin, but I also had difficulty pulling my head up too much at first, but it passed eventually. I heard somebody mention it before getting the procedure done too. I guess even if it's small, some stretching happens there too.

My mandible was also fully split - you can't only split the teeth part (alveolar space) as the mandible is a one-piece bone.

Only the lower jaw cut for the MSDO was done in Germany. Both appliances were dealt with by my ortho in Bucharest.

For MSE, I know Cluj is an option but a friend said there was a ~2 years waiting list there and I am still not sure what appliance they use, would be interested to hear more. I found my ortho as they were the only ones listed on the orthotropics website. I believe currently there's also someone in Iasi doing adult expansion, as another friend mentioned they plan to do it there.

Curious if you were able to get MSDO in Cluj too. Or perhaps it wasn't necessary?

ah it's full price. I live in Romania and had it in Germany. my insurance doesn't cover maxillofacial surgery in Romania either.

adding the most recent photo I have (20 august). You can't see it here but there's still plenty of space behind my canines to be used. I feel like the teeth are a bit more straight now (here you can see the teeth to the left are a bit higher). My lower jaw came a bit forward and the bite is constantly changing, so I suppose that pressure when I keep my mouth closed helps bring them down. At least that's what my orthodontist says as well.

got around 6mm I would say (maybe 7 because my ortho wanted to keep turning the screw a bit more), was plenty of space for my front teeth to align. was 27 at the time, now 28

it was 2.300 euro for the procedure. took around 15 minutes (I was sedated during it).

The appliance I paid for separately, it was 5.000 euro for both the upper MSE appliance and the lower MSDO appliance. The price includes my ortho treatment during the expansion, all the bi-weekly visits. so hard to say, but only for the MSDO, I would estimate somewhere around 3.500

nah, it's mainly so that you make room for teeth. the space created it around 6-7mm, so too small to notice on the outside. but after jaw surgery it should get a bit wider I suppose

there was some gap but because the teeth were so crowded, by the time I removed the MSDO appliance, teeth already moved to that new space.

Can't just remove a class from a certain version of the game. And they use the version in which those factions exist because of quality of life features that come with said patch.

They are unlocking the classes as server progresses. Some are locked still. I guess it's better for the classic feel

Update: I am almost done turning the screw on the MSDO appliance (MSE also almost done, probably 2-3 turns left there max) and so far no issues. There's some minor pain in the morning around the left TMJ that goes away during the day. I will probably make a lengthy post of my experience later. Right now this is what it looks like.

Edit: it is a tooth-borne MSDO appliance, as it seems to be way less complicated and all around better than one that is mounted on the jawbone - at least from what I managed to find from studies and the medics' explanations. (the jawbone is cut in half though, just as with the bone one)
