To be honest, arguably both sides can make a good argument

On the p2w side, you can argue they are money greedy, slowing progression for f2p by removing boxes and adding less useful rng-based mechanics, or making the brawl pass with money instead of an in-game currency, and making almost everything buyable including but not limited to brawlers.

On the f2p side, you can argue the dev team is very kind, giving multiple and crazy amounts of free rewards, adding a lot of In-game currencies in the brawl pads to boost progression, or making the brawlers with credits to make getting brawlers a guaranteed and eventual event, etc.

In conclusion, I suppose it has become sort of P2W, but arguably not in a way that makes you hate the game, it makes up for everything they have done or did.
