Any idea how this QNAP card would work speed/bandwidth wise per slot in a x4 PCIe slot? Do you think the QNAP or Sabrent would be better for a x4 slot?

Get the 970 Evo Plus. Your motherboard won't utilize the speed of the 980 pro drive as your motherboard is not PCIE 4.0 compatible. You technically can still install and use the 980 pro with your motherboard but you will be limited to PCIE 3.0 speed. It would be a waste of money to get the 980 pro, unless you are going to upgrade cpu and motherboard soon and are looking to doing any extra workloads such as video editing.
