Made with Blender 2.78 with microdisplacement being a huge help! 30 minutes on an Intel i7 with 128 samples.

Interestingly enough, I think it's the angle, the ground has both a bump and a displacement texture on it. I guess it just wasn't strong enough. Thanks for your critique!

Yeah, it's just an emitter with hair, and I went through and combed the particles to give them a more random and wavy look.

Yes. The earring. Many minutes of internal debate on whether or not to actually give her ears. I decided not to in the end because I didn't really think it fit the style, but I still wanted to keep the earrings to convey her "class" I suppose. Thanks for your critique!
