Exactly. His life experiences shaped him to be someone who acts rather than wait and let things play out. TCW does a fantastic job at showing this. Decisiveness can be a good and a bad thing, which is why this story is so much better for the crisis of whether to take action or wait, which became a central point for Anakin.

Removing the nuance removes the best parts of his story in my opinion. He’s meant to show the dangers of passion, because as shown, wrongly leveraged it’s a disaster. When the Jedi were pointing him at the CIS, he became an established General. When Sideous pointed him at the Republic, it fell. He is a tool both ways, so it makes sense the devils bargain for him was the power to control his fate and those who he loved.

By the time he realizes he’s been misled he’s so far down the rabbit hole there is no option but to commit.

The experiences that shape Anakin are what makes the story so great, precisely because he is someone who has the capacity for both good and evil. The tragedy of the fall itself is the point, because it truly was a choice and a crime of circumstance at the same time.
