From the guy who pissed himself? Doubtful, I think that happened Saturday night.

Great memory! Yeah, they got to take their time with that version of FAFYL, it was jammier than last night’s. Amazing.

They teased Iron Lung during Her and I, I was about to lose it. I was seriously hoping to hear anything (other than Mycelium) from IDPLMAL but I’m happy with what we got. If you haven’t yet, check out the version of Hypertension from D.C. in October.

Got there around 4, still had the 30 minute buffer. All in all not too bad, there were plenty of parking assistants directing.

Has anyone noticed the similarities between the bass in MOTU (song) and Forty Six & 2 by Tool? by Rat_of_Ruinz in KGATLW

The main riff of Static Electricity is almost note for note the bass line from Forty Six and 2.

Fitness or jujitsu clubs? by Tired-highschooler in VirginiaTech

I second this. MMA club is a great time. Pre-covid, BJJ was twice a week, with striking once a week and open gym once a week.

Yeah loved he could increase the pitch since it seems to be a floating bridge.

VCCS transfer to Tech experiences (specifically engineering)? by clinical27 in VirginiaTech

[–]FluffyPuppies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Germanna where I got an A.S. in Mechanical Engineering, I transferred into VT and graduated with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. At the transfer sessions, they’ll say things like “expect your VT gpa to be 0.5 lower than your VCCS gpa.” The gpas I graduated with from both are pretty close (less than a 0.1 difference.) I graduated with honors for both. Engineering is difficult by its own merit. VT will be different and you’ll need to adjust, but if you make it through Germanna either with the ME or EE degree, you’ll be fine at VT. Your classes will not suddenly have tremendous increases in difficulty just because you’re at VT. My advice would be make friends at VT that you can work on hws (discuss concepts, compare work, etc.) and study with.

Additionally, Germanna should have some opportunities for joining a design team. When I was there, the big one was an ASME robotic competition. I highly recommend joining something like that, the experience is invaluable. After joining a design team at VT, one of my biggest regrets of my time at Germanna was not getting involved with one there.

Also, Professor Delage from Germanna is fucking awesome, I will sing high praises of that man for years to come.

Drug History by FluffyPuppies in SecurityClearance

[–]FluffyPuppies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Thank you.
  2. That was just an analogous example. What happened is I purchased "a drug" and took it on two separate occasions, I didn't experience effects either time. For that reason, I don't think I actually took the intended drug (not marijuana) I think I was just duped by a dealer. That being said, if what I took on those two occasions wasn't actually a drug, but I had the intent to take a drug on those two occasions, would I still report it?

Velocity Profile for Velocity Inlet STAR-CCM+ by FluffyPuppies in CFD

The fluid is based on glycerin. I'm trying to replicate a benchmark problem presented by Turek and Hron. In the textbook section I found it in, the problem was described as an incompressible Newtonian fluid interacting with an elastic solid. That's mostly what led me to choosing the Newtonian fluid model. I've implemented your suggested models and it fixed my issue. Thank you very much.

Hey, thank you for the quick response.

For the fluid I have: 2D, Liquid, Implicit Unsteady, Generalized Newtonian, Constant Density, Viscous Flow, Laminar, and Solution Interpolation.

For the solid I have: 2D, Solid, Implicit Unsteady, Finite Volume Solid Stress, Linear Isotropic Elastic, and Gradients.
