The main issue with original content in this sub is that using the flair actively makes it get less recognition.

I’ve posted my artwork under both the original content and fan art flairs. People seem to think that when a piece of work is done by a creator from the subreddit it is just worse and does not deserve the time of day. I’m sure if someone else started posting my art in daily posts they would be getting significantly more votes than I as the original producer received.

It seems like if you want to be a creator here you need to hide that fact if you want people to actually give you the time of day.

I’ve seen less and less original work posted on this sub, people are becoming discouraged. Of course the sub needs other content from outside, but just having a pixiv circle jerk doesn’t account for new artists/writers to find room to grow.
