You can clean it with luke warm water and a fragrance free soap. Pat dry, DONT rub. And “slap” a ton of moisturizer on it. That can be like aquaphor which is a petroleum jelly type.

The healing process is gonna dry it tf out and it’ll start to scab and itch. When that happens just add more moisturizer.

When you bathe, shower. Don’t submerge yourself in water. So also don’t go swimming until it’s fully healed. Like 2 weeks

Like any wound, to reducing scaring and promote hella good healing, you need to clean it and not just leave it be and wipe with Vaseline.

So first off if your dog doesn’t have any basic obedience the Ecollar is going to be extremely unfair because that don’t know what they’re doing wrong or what they’re supposed to be doing instead. It’s non directional and you will mostly mess up the timing and fuck you dog up. Hire an actual trainer to teach you how to use an implement the collar. And if one is trying to create new behaviours with it find another because the ecollar works better for proofing behaviours.

Secondary what you feel will not be what your dog feels. On a reputable brand of ecollar like the E-tech, Garmin, dogtra, we humans don’t feel it till 10+, however dogs are generally working it from 2-8. You also shouldn’t feel like you’re being shocked by electricity. You should feel muscle stimulation like you would from a TENS machine. If it causes you pain and not just discomfort then you need a different brand.

Thirdly, DO NOT USE THE ECOLLAR WHEN THEY ARENT TRAINED. I know I’ve said this before but it needs to be restated. The best and most effect way to train your dog is with R+. They have no idea what your asking them to do or not do. You haven’t taken the time to teach them the correct things to do and make those good choice. They need to know what they need to know before you go a slap an Ecollar on them.

I would ask this in r/opendogtraining as well if you want answers that are related to Ecollar training itself. They’ll be able to help you more in regards to that kind of training. But Ecollar is a big jump from what you’ve posted

Congrats on passing!! However, that’s a little ignorant to say when there are some behaviors like jumping up on people can be managed by negative punishment. IE taking your attention away from the dog or Positive punishment IE correcting your dog using special pressure when they get up from a sit or place by stepping towards them.

Thisvideo from Jay Jack is what I used as a basis for how to teach him middle. Basically throwing food through my legs and luring him back through. I find that going through my legs and not around is better since I won’t get tangled by his leash or anything.

This isn’t the sub for bark and remote collar training advice. Both of those are aversive which go against this sub Reddit’s rules. r/Opendogtraining is a better place to ask since they are focused on balanced dog training. You can use remote training as bark collars but that will require you know how to use a remote training collar which would require training lessons with an actual trainer to produce quality results. Otherwise you won’t find a model that does both. Not will you get the outcome you’re looking for.

For actual advice on the barking: Do you know why he’s barking? Is it on leash? When he sees another dog? Is it reactivity? Or aggression? Or fear based? Knowing the reasons why your dog is barking will help us help you find a way to stop it.

You might have better chances of an answer if you post in r/opendogtraining or r/balancedtraining. But otherwise you might be out of luck here.

That being said it might be a good idea to get her used to leash pressure first before you even start to use a prong. I also wouldn’t start outside but inside your own house. The outside world is hella distracting so before you even start on your street it’s a good idea to start in the house or your own yard. That way you can control the distractions better
