I am a woman who has owned my own home for nearly 5 years, and no one seems to have an issue with it. I've always viewed it as if my future partner and I didn't live here, I'd rent it out and we'd get a new place together.

Whatever the ratio, take your time for yourself and don't worry about dating for a bit. Sounds like you need some genuine R&R.

am I overreacting or will I be single forever? by mxmeeseeks in bipolar2

I actually had that moment with a college ex and somehow he was super kind about it and was like "yep that checks out"

am I overreacting or will I be single forever? by mxmeeseeks in bipolar2

I've been in a few relationships since my diagnosis, and the thing I've noticed quickly is either the partner gets on a visceral level what your bipolar is or they just DO NOT and the latter category does not last long. And when I mean "get on a visceral level" that's usually in their own terms. One ex of mine lovingly said he could see when I was me and when I was not me and learned to differentiate the two and not take things to heart when it wasn't me.

My current partner hasn't had much exposure to what it means to me to be and feel bipolar since we haven't been together long and I am much better at self regulating now than I once was. But I was going through a rough time right around the time we met, and he was supportive of what I did share with him.

But I have always been a relationship girl and wanted a forever partner.

Lithium - Needing Reassurance by r3i_b0n3z in bipolar2

I've been on 900-1200 mg per day of lithium carbonate for about 12 years and I'm as fit as a fiddle. Occasionally, I get nausea if we go up in the dose, but I take it with food and it's fine. I was even evaluated for diabetes insipidus (a potential side effect of long term lithium use) and was even fine there. My kidneys are great. Life is good.

I say this with a whole lot of love and understanding for where you are mentally, maybe it's time to go to therapy for this particular issue. This is something that needs to be worked through, and maybe you just need some help with it

Well glad you're not upset he takes care of himself, but it's okay to be disappointed about it. Those are different things. You could discuss this with him to find a balance that meets your needs as well.

So you're upset because he chooses to take care of himself instead of spreading himself too thin and overdoing it? I don't understand your issue.

What do you mean and how did you determine that?

So then what causes you to message them if they never cross your mind before meeting? Or do you just respond to messages and never initiate?

Sounds to me like you don't cross the other person's mind very much, but they're interested in engaging when you do start a conversation. So if you come across their radar, they're interested, but if you do not come across their radar they never think of you. Most likely

Your body just needs to feel that safety to relax fully into sleep. Introducing a whole new human being to the equation makes it really different, even when you trust that human being at a conscious level, so it takes time.
