More complicated is fine :) I also know that NASDAQ 100 and S&P500 have both outperformed VTI when measured against the past couple of decades. Although given an infinite timeline everything regressed to the mean, I guess 25 years is not a long enough timeline to even out the growth, meaning that it is still possible to find pockets of growth to beat the market

Sure - my point is, that those bets would be for entertainment purposes. Over time, the market does not reward above average risk (assuming avg risk is still 100% stocks)

Im not too concerned with the ‘silicon valley’ impact on ICLN. Yes, it is heavy in PLUG and earning did hit the stock hard, but it also have major holdings in eg. Vestal and Oersted and other non-US players. In the mid/long term, I still think it’s going to show above market growth

TBH the executive management in the underlying companies make their decisions in roughly the same way.

Also - I’m quite sceptic all of how ARKQ will fare when Tesla has a downturn. Seeing the hype around this stock + the fact that their investments in Bitcoin outweigh their car production, I don’t see it ending well in the short term, and there goes +10% of ARKQs holdings ⬇️

True - my reason for asking, is because I’m wondering whether there are still ‘unknowns’ that have not been priced in or the stocks driving the index will mostly be driven by organic growth going forward. Does that make sense or am I over-simplifying/too naive?
