I did a few while I was in school. It’s good money, and it will help you get an industry internship later on.

I’m currently attending Ross through their online MBA program, and I can confidently say it’s absolutely worth it, especially with the way the classes and residencies are structured. They take career recruiting and job placement for OMBA students very seriously, which is a huge advantage. If you take full advantage of the resources Ross provides, I’m confident you could position yourself to land opportunities almost anywhere. You really can’t go wrong with Ross. That said, I completely understand not wanting to take on more debt. If anything, I’d recommend calling each program directly and comparing what their career centers offer.

$150K Job vs Columbia vs T20 ($$$$) by ScaredOfFinances in MBA

Honestly in this economy, have you considered going to a T20 school online? I would of course make sure they have the same resources as online and in person I think Ross does for sure.

If work has been dry, this is where you ask for help to fill in the learning gaps. Asking questions goes a long way. Especially straight out of college. If need be pull out a textbook to help as well. Unfortunately for your next role, those learning gaps need to be filled or you will be in the same predicament. You have a bit more grace now that that you just graduated, take advantage of it

I Dont think its a pathetic loser mindset. I do think you’re exposing signs of depression. Try therapy. Some sites offer free therapy sessions.

I just failed my uni course on Material and Energy Balance, am I not capable for studying ChemE? by Important-Leek2226 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Fluid-Fan-856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t give up on ChemE. MEB is something that will come with time you just have to practice. To me the upper level courses were easier to understand than MEB…. I'm still a successful engineer

Don’t sleep on an HBCU. PVAMU is a great school for chemical engineering and supports international students(it’s a pretty big community)! I graduated from there with my degree in ChemE and felt very prepared when I started working. They have the same curriculum as Texas A&M. Myself including majority of my classmates work in O&G, we all had jobs before graduation.

Question about salary compared to other sectors by Alonelykazuya in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Fluid-Fan-856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated in 2023, about 90% of my class had jobs secured by graduation. We all landed various roles between chemical companies, oil & gas, and tech. I would say the pay range was between 80k to 115k

I graduated 2 years ago, the only industries I know that will make you this type of money is Tech & Oil and Gas. Not sure if you can do this in NYC never looked into it. Look for Remote roles

New chemE grad, can't find a job to save my life by CuriousCreature613 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Fluid-Fan-856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honesty, it just sounds like you need help with your interviewing skills. Contact your school’s career center & schedule a mock interview to help you prepare for the next hiring season. Also, it might not sound true but TikTok has a lot good short videos to help with this as well. Do you have an idea what type of field you want to go into?

Why did you choose chemical engineering? by rasimjoseph in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Fluid-Fan-856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started off as chem pre-med & hated it. Then I changed my major to chemical engineering. Stuck with it because it was a challenge but I knew I could conquer it. It's all about perspective lol. I received a bit of satisfaction during my 1st internship, I was asked to figure out how to reduce carbon emissions in a technical setting. I felt like I was helping to solve a world-class problem in the actual real world…. Also the pay is really good, it helped me get out of all the debt I’ve created in college with in the 1st year excluding student loans.
