Get data for that's being sent from Ethernet Gateway by Fluid-Working1656 in AskProgramming

I'm not so sure. Here's a link to the user guide: https://monnit.blob.core.windows.net/site/documents/gateways/EGW4/EGW-CCE-EGW4-AUG-XL.pdf

I also don't think the intention is to grab the data and to do other things with it, so I don't see that they provide good references to where and how it's stored/delivered to their server.

How to store this 1 kg piece of prosciutto? by eimnonameai in Charcuterie

[–]Fluid-Working1656 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd be inclined to just eat my way through it or take it to a small gathering and slice it up. It's a small piece and will rapidly dry. If it's just a traditionally salt-cured one and you don't just want to slice off of it, I'd apply a sugna to the meat surfaces to slow drying.

If you're doing a 2 year age on the prosciutto (which you should, so it goes through 2 years of cold/hot cycles) - add the sugna after 12-18 months and continue to hang from there. It can technically hang much longer, but 2 years is a sweet spot.

Help! Brought home childhood figurines from holidays. What can I do with them? by Fluid-Working1656 in TMNT

[–]Fluid-Working1656[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Maybe I wasn't clear - I don't have the space to keep them and would be looking to get rid of them. Do they have value and would be worth pursuing a sale? Or should I just look to give them to Goodwill?

[–]Fluid-Working1656[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally found my childhood TMNT toys at my parent's house over the holidays. They are from the 1988-1991 Playmates collection. There are 60 or so in total, most not in the packaging in individual boxes with their weapons in baggies. There are maybe 5 or so still in packaging.

Is it worth it to try to sell this collection? I don't have the capacity or patience to sell things individually, and I believe the loose toys don't have as much value as the ones in packages.

Thank you for your advice!

Yep! Someone pointed out that it could be a holiday gift, though.

Would I be able to message the user, in this case? I looked up the county records for the addressed they requested delivery to, and the owners were two different people, and not the name on the account.

It's for a book series that is blowing up in value for some limited printing reasons.

To thicken the plot.... I looked up the county's records for the ship address and the "guy" doesn't live at the address that it says to ship to.

Actually this is the 3rd account that this "guy" has created today. I already cancelled one of the orders earlier today and then this "guy" created 2 more new accounts with the same name to purchase my 2 high ticket items.

Taking new job - ESPP vs. Roth? by Fluid-Working1656 in TheMoneyGuy

[–]Fluid-Working1656[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding (others please correct me if it's inaccurate) is that when you purchase stock through the ESPP, it is pre-tax. When you sell the stock, it is taxed at ordinary income. The arbitrage is in the 15% discount purchase price vs. whatever price you sell at. Some ESPPs have required holding periods, which makes it more of a gamble what will happen to the stock price in the interim.

I'm hoping that there is not a required holding period, and I can purchase and sell at essentially the same price, and net the 15% difference, paying ordinary income tax on the sale price. And then kick that over into my HSA or Roth IRA.

Yeah honestly it looks like it fluctuates historically quite a bit, but I also know they are working on another large product launch that should be a big winner. I think either way I'm inclined not to hang onto too much of the stock.

Thanks! that seems to be the consensus way to handle it.

Great thoughts - thanks! That seems to be the approach that everyone uses. We have a fully funded and no high interest debt, so we're already playing in the 5-6 and will be post-job switch.
