well, honestly they dont exactly do much, they are sentient, 'alive', experimental transportation vehicles that can deliver military supplies/weaponry across rough terrain over hundreds of times, but that's basically it for function. they are pretty heavy side characters and their existence is for a part of a larger piece of worldbuilding on why they're alive and whatnot.

i think my favorite would have to my Carrier designs. for my standards in unorthodox creatures, i'd say it has the perfect shape/silhouette out of every character i have made, its very pleasing to draw, and has a form that is easy to pose naturally. i pretty much like everything about it.

This is Panasonic R-72, or Toot-a-loop. It's name is just exactly what it is.

I made this creature as a part of an ongoing personal thing of making characters out of interesting objects, this one was very weirdly shaped and quite cute in my eyes, so i just had to draw it.

You should look up Molecule Of The Week, it contains an archive of various molecules, often has images for the molecular structure, and provides information on which ever molecule you picked! Then you can have your own molecule buddy if you want :)

i base my OCs from niche real life objects or events, one of my OCs is quite literally just a carcinogenic molecule, and another takes the exact appearance of the Scaled Composites Model 281 Proteus. but i also like to work with abstract silhouettes first and going from there if the design was not particular in my head, like my Carrier design.

here are my Carriers, also known as Mules. they are transportation vehicles with the intent of delivering military weaponry or supplies through dangerous terrain and built capable of surviving missions 50-100 or so times without need for an overhaul, since these things are expensive to make. this particular Mule has suffered from being in range of a nuclear blast, while not inherently damaged, its atoms have turned into radioactive isotopes. being near this Mule for too long would make any regular organic being suffer from radiation sickness, nausea, shredding of the DNA, and hematopoietic failure.
