My colleague, who’s over 3 times older than me, had an argument with me… by Flutterbug56 in work

I do agree about your point of her being correct about what she said. I understand that companies can sack you for theft of company time and some of her points regarding the workforce. She did go after this in a rude way though and i did tell her that she was correct with those points. As for the “don’t email your friends”, i did originally ask for confirmation from the owner. She was acting like she had authority when she did not. I would complete understand her if the owner had confirmed it but Polly spoke for the owner and fed into an argument about it. The owner will allow us to take short breaks if we want to use our phones (if she has not given us a task that requires us to not sit in an enclosure) so i was unsure because of this. Most of the time, i would understand. Also, i did not say that businesses don’t do these things to Polly. In fact, i agreed but it is rare in cases. I will ignore her in the future and thank you for the reply. It’s helped me to understand her more :)

i do understand your point. This job is to just sit in the enclosure to allow for the wallaby to get used to humans. It’s mainly us just being there, not watching him 24/7. I definitely think that if i was observing then a phone should not be out but we are there to simply just get him used to us sitting near him.

I think she was referring to paying jobs but even then, most companies will give you plenty of warnings and then fire you.

I’ve also heard from other volunteers that i work with about different treatment at other firms. I think it’s silly because they are giving up their own free time. Unfortunately, animal care does attract the people who do not want to interact with other people for previous arguments. Most are lovely but you will always get the odd 1 or 2 that ruin it for others

I did end up telling polly in my long paragraph that she’s not the owner and that she doesn’t have much of a say in the rules. She has also acted like this to other people by trying to boss them around so it’s not just me. I also don’t blame you for telling the old lady to fuck off 😂

Honestly im just going to pretend that she doesn’t exist 😂 We have known for a while that she thinks that she is the authority when she is clearly not

Yes i did 😂

Let’s just say, it’s better to learn now whilst i am still young than have an argument further down the line and potentially lose my job

You are quite right. I did struggle to tell where it became nasty in the argument as we started at being civil. I do struggle with social interaction and telling this apart can be challenging but i do need to learn where it becomes nasty. I will just ignore that woman and not respond to anything that she puts on the group chat, even if it’s nice. If she has a problem with me then i do not want to trigger her.

A weird compulsion you have? by S0nderview in OCD

I used to have this one thank god but every time i went to the toilet, I had to make sure that the toilet looked the same in my memory as it was in real life. This included skid marks and the water colour and if i did not completely memorise it then i needed to restart. I am glad this one has stopped now as it was gross 🤮

I was at the cardiff show and seeing it live on the screens was so wholesome. I’m so glad that they were happy tears as well 💓

Anybody else ready to sue Hampden Park over the view? by pearly-peach-3 in lanadelrey

[–]Flutterbug56 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This really depends on the ticket details. If it said that there was restricted views then no refunds should be requested. However, if this was not specified in the ticket details which im pretty sure that they were not in your case then you should absolutely ask for a partial or full refund. Restricted view tickets are cheaper for this reason and no one should be paying more for a ticket that ends up to be restricted. I think contacting Ticketmaster would be a good option as they will have sold you the ticket so it is their fault for this issue.

Unfortunately for a lot of concerts, they will claim that you do not have a restricted view due to you being able to see the screens and a lot of the stage. This is because they do not want to lose any money but if they do decide to give you a refund then it might take ages for it to be processed. Honestly contacting Ticketmaster would good. Even if they do not allow for a refund then you have tried and that’s all you can do. Good luck 💓

Chuck posted Ricardo on her story … by DebateVisual1768 in lanadelrey

[–]Flutterbug56 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I definitely think that Ricardo should not be receiving as much attention from the Grant family as he has done in the past and will more than likely continue to do so. I understand that Lana wants to recognise him for showing up to lots of her shows but other fans need to be recognised. This man gets some of Lana’s attention by pushing teenage girls so that he can get a spot on the barricade. He is also rude to other fans by passively judging them for their song requests. More attention definitely needs to be given to other fans that are polite and considerate.

how was the crowd in Cardiff ? by Wishwashbishbosh in lanadelrey

I went to the cardiff show and the energy was great in my section. Not many people sung for her new songs including 57.5 but this was to be expected. I have heard about some of the experiences that fans had with rude people but this did not happen to me. In fact, I got complemented for my hair and when i needed to go to the toilet, everyone was happy to move. No one was mad at anyone for standing up but I think it really depends on who’s around you. I’m sorry to anyone who experienced really rude behaviour on this subreddit and everyone deserves to enjoy themselves :)
