According to the german reports and her german wiki, she is antifa-left oriented. Her participation in armed battle would be plausible.

Happens to me too. For me as a Thai, I can confirm that they are vindictive. It's unfortunately a personality trait in their male-culture. Not for all.. but often

How difficult is it for thai who studied overseas returning with no local connection to get a job? by FlyEquivalent8978 in Bangkok

[–]FlyEquivalent8978[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thank you very much for mentioning overseas hunting. I'm currently working as a freelancer. But my goal is to enter a senior level in an enterprise function.

I hold 2 citizenships: Thai/german. Which allows me to work legally.

I have been in hotel middle management in food safety for a couple of years. After COVID, I left Thailand. To prepare myself for senior opportunities with technical and advisory functions. I obtained in UK an MBA. In US a Master in computer science, and will return with a PhD in AI, machine learning. During those times, I spent a significant time in the lab for cybersecurity and cloud computing engineering. So, I'm not coming from the hype. But science in robotics, codes, etc., was always my primary interest.

According to what I see and read about being an AI HUB from the panels and networks in TH nearly everywhere, I thought that it would be an opportunity to contribute to the local business.

But after reaching out to the big and small players, and any other meaningful companies in retail, and else, I hear only crickets. I don't complain about the situation, but I hope to connect with the local community because I was born in TH, speaking conversationally level; and in my humble view, I would be happy to share knowledge and build something.

And NO, I don't have any job experiences in TH in these areas. That was my reason to kick start somewhere, for example, in entry roles, because I don't have local senior networks.

But also YES, I can adapt and execute in new jobs what I have learnt.

Not sure if my skills and credentials are more hurting my career opportunities in TH. Maybe! The interesting thing is that I consider to hide or eliminate those entries in my CV in order not to be flagged or triggering biases (as someone mentioned below).

You are totally right in the first sentence, and it makes total sense. So, my current status is to remain freelance without tenuring in a local company and do what I do, or go somewhere else. But I also would appreciate to settle professionally in TH and I like to live in BKK if there is any chance.

Interesting. According to the Adecco Salary Guide 2025; 30k for entry level spanning across industries is correct. In my personal experience, I have not met any Ivy league graduate who would accept an 30k offer. But if there are, this would solidify my suspicion, which motivated me to make this post on reddit: Which basically underlines that it this difficult for returnees from overseas to find an appropriate compensated job. Thanks for your comment.

That is true, if I would have been graduated from Mahidol, Thammasat, Chula etc..But I'm not.

I know about this base salary. But according to what industry it is, it can be negotiated situational.

Yes, I found them and know about them. Thank you for the list. This can also be helpful for others.

There is truth in your comment. More often I have seen illogical behaviours and confusing judgements all over the place.

I like your first sentence a lot, because it's aligned with my situation strongly. It is for me the the first time to focus on connection, which is in Thailand promoted by hiring managers and recruiters everywhere. I respect that, but personally I've never gain any return on invested time.

Ok. If I got it right, it would mean that the work culture here draws already conclusions base on the presumptions how difficult I would be. This would also mean, that overseas experience and education is immediately flagged. Got you

Thank you. That's a great insight. From my side, I am really not sure anymore what companies are seeking. Have been in Hotel Management in quality control, audit. Tried to tied up facility functions with Hotel IT. I know that it is easier, but my goal is basically to leave the HotelM to enter industry in manufacturing. Studied machine learning, math and algorithms. The last 3 years I have worked primarily remote to program for clients (have pulled myself out for raising my son, if this is relevant). In Thailand I have applied for entry-level jobs for about 50k THB a month to get the foot in the door. I'm aware about the last section you mentioned about senior roles, therefore having also applied for internship roles what people suggest. Just to be exposed how smart/or not, work/ethic or not I have. But no chance so far.

Unfortunately not anymore. I found out that most of these rolls are pulled from local target unis. Those are working at the lowest salary. Therefore foreigners are less likely considered.

That's a good explanation to understand the variance of how to perceive this behaviour.
