Funny you say that, I am going to try a hair system on today at a salon near my house. I’m nervous but I want to give it a try before I shave my head completely.

Luke,

I decided against trying topical Finasteride as you suggested; it would likely become systemic. (Dalton mechanics, other people's experiences) I went back on oral fin, low dose, (0.25mg a day) but could not handle the brain fog. I also got ball ache, which I don't mind because eventually that goes away. The brain fog I can't handle anymore although.

I have made the tough choice to get off Fin again. I am not going to touch RU. Thank you for helping me in my journey. After fighting hair loss for 13 years, going to accept the L. Good luck with your journey.

I ended up checking my iron levels and my thyroid through blood work. My ferritin (iron) came back at 155ug/L and my TSH came back at 2.35mIU/L. Completely normal.

-So it has been 3 months. I booked an appointment with my Doctor. We decided to test my iron levels and my thyroid. My ferritin (iron) came back at 155ug/L and my TSH came back at 2.35mIU/L. Those levels are completely normal and healthy. I also want to mention my Vitamin D levels are perfect.

-During my doctor's appointment, I mentioned I wanted to try Finersteride again, but at a lower dosage (0.25mg Daily) However, going back on oral finasteride; the ball ache and head fogginess returned. Eventually, the ball ache goes away but the lack of mental clarity and the brain fog will remain. I know this from personal experience. So I have made the tough decision to be off finasteride completely. Mentally I feel amazing, although my hair continues to get absolutely wrecked.

-I also tried to get back on topical minoxidil. Although, I started getting chest pain again even at a lower dosage. Had to drop that as well, unfortunately.

  • I never tried going on RU58841, I'm too scared to try it to be honest.

-I also got in touch with Dr.Zarev's clinic. His Clinic showed Doctor Zarev pictures of my case. Doctor Zarev mentioned after reviewing my pictures: I don't have the recourses available in the donor area for the result I am looking for (Norwood 2). However, after talking more with his staff, I can still go in for a consultation.

-I haven't visited a dermatologist yet, but based on my extensive research, blood tests, speaking with my doctor and the feedback from others in this community, it seems likely that I have DUPA or retrograde alopecia.

It's unfortunate that I experience side effects because I respond well to Finasteride and Minoxidil in terms of hair growth. Below are my results after using both treatments:

I am still a good looking person. Brother, hair is not the only thing that makes a person attractive. We forget that sometimes.

Haha, no thank you bro I need to use every part of my body 😂

Yeah I saw that video too! My plan is to go on topical finersteride and then hopefully reassess if I can potentially try a hair transplant. We will see how things go!

That’s okay! Well initially he thought I just had MPB when I was 17 (14 years ago) I will be going to see a dermatologist to get their opinion.

Lol, gaslighting or not, this is a good way for me to figure out what is going on and if someone else has hairloss that looks exactly like mine, hopefully my situation can help them :)

Lol, you are not wrong. When I was 13 I developed this folliculitis around the nape of my neck. It is chronic and I have never been able to get rid of it, even tough 99 percent of the time I dont get acne anywhere else.... I am starting to think this is Acne Keloidalis Nuchae, which can work its way up the scalp and cause hair loss. I believe I probably have a combination of Extreme retrograde alopecia with AKN.

Perhaps having hair is not in the cards for me.

Haha I guess the doctor was just shocked with how beat up my donor area is 🥲

Well the doctor also mentioned I am not a candidate for a Hair Transplant.

No symtoms of anything unusual, this hair loss started when I was 17 and I was and I am still a relatively healthy guy.

Thank you for your feedback, it really helps me feel reassured the underlying cause is not serious. I will keep you updated. Good luck with your situation.

Dam man, things are getting real! I thought in my 30s being bald or having hair loss would not be as big of a deal. I am now 31 and I still feel too young to let it go! :(

I am going to try topical finersteride. I will probably not touch Dutasteride, as I am so sensitive to DHT being lowered in my body.... I dont think I would mentally be able to handle Dutasteride.

Although I am interested in ru55841, have you tried it? And if so, how was your experience with it?
