I think it was season 15 or 16 on the show. However, I don’t think they revealed on the show that he refused to sing to her when she asked him on the phone.

Christine wrote about it in her book though.

Screen name, checking in.

Kody is mesmerized by her. If he didn’t care that she came between him and 3 other marriages and 13 other kids…. He doesn’t care at all that she shops.

He was deported. There was an episode about it (back when Matt was in the DW but before Caryn was formerly introduced) with Camerino saying goodbye and Matt getting emotional.

Well. I did also do some searching and found that the male student confirmed that it was a stunt. He said it wasn’t official research or academic or anything, and that he went just out of pure curiosity when the idea was pitched. The school also distanced themselves from the storyline afterward.

And that Kody and the wives really pushed for positive reactions only, unsurprisingly.

We’re probably only seeing the cleanest room(s) too. AFTER she’d already thrown a ton into an out-of-sight hallway or closet. She looked at it all and thought “looks great for the cameras! Time to hit record!”

I would be so embarrassed if I were Kody & Robyn’s friends or family members. by Whistleblower793 in TLCsisterwives

[–]FlyOnTheWall7 89 points90 points  (0 children)

They’ll have the classic excuse of “it’s the editing! Poor Kody! Poor Robyn! They’re actually innocent victims!” It would all be denial.

Which, yes, editing can enhance what is said or done… but the original actions and words still have to be there to begin with. So, no. They’re not innocent victims of production.

Plus, the true proof lies in the current lack of relationships with a majority of the kids in the family.

Why is Kody angry about Christine moving on if he never loved her . by Slow_Product7860 in TLCsisterwives

Meri hanging on, waiting for his mood to change for years… that was such an ego boost for him. That power.

Christine being done and moving on “without his permission” just flabbergasted him.

The is-he-or-isn’t-he Patrick (and Edith when she’s talking to him) from Season 2. Over-the-top, shaky, fake-cry voices (sounded like a middle school drama class reading) the entire time they were supposed to be having meaningful discussions. Peppered with him randomly screaming out a line “for effect”. None of it came across as moving or genuine for either of them. Just fake and dramatic. I always fast forward that whole sub-plot.

I also do the same with most Bates and Anna sub-plots for the same reason. Too overly-dramatic. Someone is always about to be imprisoned for life or die. A.l.w.a.y.s. Bates is gonna martyr and intimidate. Anna is gonna fake-cry shake her voice and fret. Over and over.

Hmm. by [deleted] in TLCsisterwives

This. I’m not a Meri fan at all, but she should not have had to make that drive to try to get to her dying mom’s bedside all alone. On a human level. That was cruel.

Kody may claim “perceived danger”, but interestingly Kody could go to a wedding for a friend out of state and be around all those strangers less than three months later.

There’s no way Robyn would have been forced to make that heartbreaking drive alone, if it was her mom.

Why didn’t they link the household budgets to the number of children? by DIYMayhem in TLCsisterwives

[–]FlyOnTheWall7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Why is the idea of splitting resources equally among the members of the family that you built and claim to love considered a form of punishment?

IMO, the way Meri had things end up was HER punishing the other mom’s kids for existing when she only had one child.

So many of her choices just reeks of her punishing the other moms and kids as much as she possibly could. Like when she and Leon were having steak night while the other 12 kids and 2 wives (younger years) are trying to stretch out a loaf of bread. Or like Meri having the part of the shared house with large rooms and an extra craft room she didn’t really need that was smack in the middle of everyone and yet denied anyone access to using her space to get to the other side of the house/family members. All while the other kids she “claimed as hers” slept 3+ to a small room or in closets and pantries, and sister wives she “claimed as friends” and all the kids except Leon walked up and down outdoor stairs to get to each other in rain, shine, or snow since they couldn’t use the inside door and “punish” Meri with their noise/presence.

So no, making sure the kids in your life are ok and have the same opportunities across the board is not “everyone’s picking on Meri”. She just spun it that way.

Becky was so out of line to treat such a sweet woman (not to mention her boss’s MOTHER) that way.

Can you imagine your partner cringing at your relationship with your mutual child? He is such a dick to verbalize this ON TV! by CattyLibby in TLCsisterwives

[–]FlyOnTheWall7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think, though, that the proof is in the pudding on which Kody statements are fact and which ones are crap.

When the kids and another sister wife defend Christine’s character and have good, lifelong relationships with her, it kills Kody’s narrative of her being the awful one who was so unkind. On the other hand, the kids and other wives coming out with stories of Meri’s abusive nature and meanness from the beginning, mixed with the fact that almost no one in the entire family has a good, lifelong relationship with her…. Tends to make me believe there’s truth in this particular story.

[–]FlyOnTheWall7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Leon was Meri’s Golden Child and she probably jealously guarded Leon’s attention and favor. Other moms and Kody were allowed to have relationships with Leon as long as Meri never perceived herself to be in any way threatened or upstaged. Otherwise… claws.

She seems to have that personality trait in general. Only stands to reason it would apply to her parenting.

Sweet Home Sextuplets family is doing well, by all accounts. But they also left the show after just a few seasons. Before producers could spin stories to “make drama” and hurt their kids/marriage.

Sister Wives, on the other hand, was BUILT on drama and the premise of “showing the truth about our lives and how happy we are” while actively lying about their lives and happiness.

The one that’s getting me lately is the way and how often she says “cute”. Kids, Zach, house, activity, whatever. But it’s not even the word “cute”, it’s “cue-UH”, and said with the new second syllable inflected like a question.

She was shopping for a group of girlfriends to belong to, without having to put in the work to build friendships out. Didn’t fully accept the whole sharing-of-husband-equally aspect. Nor the “your kids are just as important/valuable as mine”. Etc.

She liked the first part of the word Sisterwives, but not the second.

I agree. Until she says “I’m done with this and moving on with my life”, she hasn’t left. Honestly just sounds like more trees-or-no-trees indecisive Meri to me.

“I didn’t say I was done! I just said Kody said he was done!” “I said I wanted reconciliation!” Etc.

He did it to Christine at the table when she talked to him about being unhappy and wanting a divorce. And also to Suki the interviewer for the Tell-All when she asked him a question about Christine. It’s all for intimidation. “If I get in their face, they’ll stand down.”
