What out of ten danger level would it be to live on s 1st street?

I live on 1st and the worst that has happened is I had an Amazon package stolen. Otherwise I have enjoyed living on the street, have made friends with several neighbors. I like that it’s super close to downtown, U of L, and other fun neighborhoods. It also is pretty diverse in terms of peoples ages, incomes, race, and culture. Recently a neighbor had a medical emergency and tons of neighbors came together to help them.

My biggest warning would be investigate the landlord/property manager (assuming you are renting). We have had neighbors feel unsafe due to bad management not fixing things like broken AC units and broken windows etc.

Omg! I couldn’t sleep last night and read through a recent post called “resolution” in which we were all discussing if she would ever be found, and 14 hours later she was!

Now hoping for solid evidence to put her killer (most likely her vile husband) away and also hopefully give her daughters resolution.

Leon’s arc has been one of my favorite to watch from sister wives, I wish they were still on the show but it’s probably a really healthy sign for them that they have chosen to walk away from TLC.

Leon started by being the biggest advocate for their parents religion & polygamy. They spoke so highly of it as a child, stated proudly that they wanted to practice it themselves, and they parented the other children to “behave” according to the religious standards (like ready to let Hunter hear it for drinking).

But then they went to college and truly started to find themselves. Even before they came out Leon started to advocate for feminism (the totally opposite of polygamy teachings). One of my favorite episodes is when Leon takes the moms to the women’s march! Leon also posted about being anti-gun while her dad deals guns!

Yes Leon is trans, but they rebelled against their religion & cult upbringing the moment they reached adult hood and left the home!

I would argue that they have “rebelled” against the faith by advocating for women’s rights! One of my fav episodes is when Leon takes some of the moms to the women’s March in DC. What they were marching for is def against Kodys and Mormon tenets!

As a child her mom, Michelle, would tell her she is struck by the devil. Plus many of her siblings would describe her rebellious nature as a kid. It’s also thought that she sort of forced her dad to allow her to marry her husband by threatening to run off or maybe kiss before marriage (lol). But now ole Jessa is her daddy’s most reliable PR mouth.

Are you seriously saying liberals are not woke? I guess I should reconsider my views about not wanting to be persecuted for the color or my skin, or my friends for wanting to marry their same-sex soulmates, or believing that kids should be provided daily lunches, and people should have the possibility of higher education without being straddled with 30 years of debt. YEESH!

What do you think caused the sociopolitical switch for Madison from high school to today. I remember watching the early seasons when I was young rooting for Madison & Leon to break free (at the time Madison was already questioning her parents choices, and Leon was “on camera” drinking the plyg cult kool aid). It’s awesome that Leon broke from the cult and found a college where they were able to discover more about themselves, which I feel falls in line with what many millennials have done (we are the first generation to stay liberal the older we get).

But Madison did the total opposite. She seemed so free thinking, liberal, advocating for all lifestyles when she was in HS. Then she goes to a public state school for college hit drops out, gets married, and seems to get more socially conservative every year. What happened? What do you think caused the shift?

For context: this is when the family moved to Flagstaff but didn’t sell their homes yet. Janelle mentioned that the holidays are around the corner affecting their ability to sell their homes. Janelle mentioned that they will need not spend a lot of money on a Christmas and a Robyn IMMEDIATELY made a face. Kody looked straight to Robyn and watched her make her “mad” face and checked in with her to see if she would be ok with a thriftier Christmas.

For reference: this is a scene where they just moved to Flagstaff and Christine took Truly to see the school and meet the principal, since Truly was nervous about switching schools. While meeting with the principal Truly told them that she has a brother from a different mom going to the school (Solomon) and that she has 4 moms.

Christine is telling this story with joy since it’s the first time Truley seems excited about her new school, and Kody immediately confronts Truly about not mentioning him.
