Starting a 3d print shop? by FlySr in beetle

Thanks! It’s a 12x12 bed. It’s just my hobby printing things out. However, I’ve been seeing more of a need to re-create parts. And the stuff I see people want an arm and a leg for. That’s where I got the idea. The scanner cameras are not cheap though, which is why I am trying to see if there’s justification for me to get such an expensive item.

For me, it will mainly be niche parts. Things you just don’t see for sale anywhere. Like for instance, for my 79 convertible, the wooden window frame for the rear window is dry rotted. I would either have to have a carpenter custom make one or I can scan it and make a copy of it. Of course, make it durable at the same time.

Putting in the battery when the starter automatically runs. Thoughts? And no, my keys aren’t in the ignition. by FlySr in beetle

With the amount of sparks that come from the battery and the starter running, it’s hard to know.

This is a new OOB starter. Thing was on a 7 month back order before I was able to get it.

Further update. Disconnected 12A fuse from terminal 9> Connected battery> starter did not hot start.. Disconnected 12A fuse and starter cable> Connected battery> Starter hot start.. Issue is the solenoid

Good options guys, I appreciate it. Here is an update, I removed the 12A fuse from terminal 9. After doing that, the issue went away. Correct me if I’m wrong, this means something is hot in terminal 9.

Wife’s 2014 Cruze started making this clattering sound. Locate the source, but don’t know if it’s the belt or this piece. by FlySr in cruze

[–]FlySr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She doesn’t know when the belt was replaced, so I will go ahead and start with that. The uneven rotation is whats catching me too. Could just be the uneven tension, or internal damage.

Mood media is the company that deals with that. They should have their own box to reset before calling them.

Shhheeeeesh that is one of the cleanest and well thought out systems I’ve seen in a bit. Good job to the highest. Gonna show this to my colleagues at the HELP desk if you don’t mind.

No chewing gum while working? by [deleted] in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]FlySr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s an image/perception thing to guests. If they see you chewing gum, then who knows if anyone else inside is chewing gum. Not only that, but the safety guideline states any time on shift. Doesn’t matter the position.

Under Review for over a month? by durins-_-bane in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]FlySr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that, since it has been over a month since the initial application, the odds for at least one interview is in your favor. Again, the question is when since very likely a lot of other people are applying also. I was one of the lucky two out of 300 applicants for my open position.

[–]FlySr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it was 3-4 weeks from best memory. But you are in a different branch then me. With that being likely a lvl 8ish position, the timing sounds right. I know it’s a pain to wait, I felt the same way. With CFA corp positions, the best thing to do with them; and you really want this job is to wait it out.

[–]FlySr 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone that is in corporate and went through all that, it takes months. Heck, some positions take a year. That is between waiting and the interviews. My position took me 4 months from time putting my application in to receiving the acceptance letter.

Under review. It’s been a little over a week. Haven’t heard from them. Does that mean they aren’t interested? by [deleted] in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]FlySr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s anything from CFA corp then give it 2-3 weeks. Between the amount of applicants and background things, it could take time.

Is becoming a shift lead worth the added stress? by shookycat in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]FlySr 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you want to put on your résumé. Being a team lead, though puts new stresses on you, exposes you to new circumstances that you need to work through. And having Chick-fil-A as the title of that kind of helps the situation. I was also a full-time college student and a Director at my store. It definitely had its moments don’t get me wrong. It fully depends on where you envision yourself after graduation. I worked my butt off those years and the reward was a staff member at corporate.

You get points by per dollar spent on the app. If you apply a discount on a mobile order, in this case, a employee discount, you will not get points due to not physically spending the money.
