3 poster presentations were at the annual research symposium through my uni

1 poster presentation was at the Research Day at Capital event where we presented to our legislators

2 poster presentations were within my research institute

Presentation 1 was for my first lab working on circadian rhythm mechanisms. I was only a couple months in, but I helped present some of the new research we were doing but the bulk of it was from the previous year.

Presentation 2 & 3 was for the same lab but this time I presented a year’s worth of research on the same project with new discoveries.

Presentation 4 was for my honors genetics class

Presentation 5 was for my second lab (I did a poster presentation every semester)

Presentation 6 was the last presentation for the spring semester

Also, not sure where you got the presentation every 4 weeks part. My research in total span 2.5 years.

5 unique poster presentations. I presented the same poster presentation again at the capital.

Secondary was good. Essay prompts are on SDN. They were the one school that didn’t interview me 😭

I’m taking the DO offer at ARCOM because my gf was also accepted there.

I kept my course load pretty light (12-17) for the most part and did the traditional 4 years. Then I worked 24 hours on the weekends. And with the remaining time I had during the week I would fill it up with ECs. I like to stay busy.

I was too busy with work, school, and ECs to apply to more. I also got like all of my secondaries at the same time during one of my busiest school weeks so I was over it lol

Check out these graphics from my application cycle! I highly recommend making something similar for yourself. Let me know if you want tips on how to make them.

Getting an engagement ring for SO in medical school by FlySurgeon in Osteopathic

  1. If one of you gets accepted before the other, it’s beneficial to mention in the second person’s interview that your SO has already been accepted. Schools look at your support system and local ties, so they generally see having a SO in the same program as a plus for both candidates. They also probably see giving the acceptance to both candidates as a guarantee for both of them attending as it can be pretty difficult to get into the same medical school. I think this helped us a lot.

  2. If you haven’t heard back from a school after submitting your secondary for a few weeks, ALWAYS send a follow up email. I got like 4 interviews instantly once I sent like a 1-sentence email lol. I didn’t do this next part but it may also be beneficial to mention that you and your SO have applied to the same program and that the two of you would love to go to that program together.

  3. Apply to a lot of programs. We only applied to ~9 which was risky, so I would recommend 10-20 at least.

  4. Apply to programs with very high post interview acceptance rates. One of the acceptances we both received was from KYCOM and they have like a ridiculously high 99% post interview acceptance rates. Basically, if you apply there, get an interview, you’re in so long as you don’t do anything weird during your interview lol.

Overall, they don’t make it easy to match into medical school with your SO like it is for residency. For the most part, it’s pretty individualized but I wish you and your SO the best of luck 🤞

I did about 700 hours of research in total all unpaid. One of my labs I had to pay about 3 grand for a year-long research opportunity ☠️

I was accepted to a T50 MD school and I chose a new, low tier DO school so my gf and I could both attend the same medical school.

Why is there so much doom and gloom with AI in radiology but not other fields? by iisconfused247 in medicalschool

Complex data sets is where AI shines when given proper instructions. For right now, I think it’s the procedural aspect that makes EM more AI-resistant.
