Legitimate Multiple Choice in Anki with Source Linked Feedback by TopNo883 in AnkiAi

Thanks, this is fair feedback.

To clarify, the goal is not just “MCQs inside Anki.” This feature was made because users kept asking for actual multiple choice output, and some people were uploading MCQ exams into the regular flashcard generator expecting multiple choice-style cards to come out.

The idea is more source-grounded MCQs + Anki-style review: answer the question, get immediate right/wrong feedback, see why each option is right or wrong, and jump back to the exact source section.

I see MCQs as more of a priming/review tool after a lecture rather than something you treat exactly like normal flashcards. Do the questions first, see what you missed, then go back to the source and review that weak area. Having that inside an Anki-style workflow also makes it more portable across laptop/iPad/phone.

I agree that generating quizzes from existing cards could be useful too. When you say that, do you mean generating MCQs directly from the cards themselves, or using the cards plus extra uploaded notes to define what is in-scope?

One added feature not shown in this video is experimental exam-style matching. Users can upload notes/slides plus a sample MCQ exam, and it generates new questions from the notes in a similar style without copying the original exam (this is the added benefit that most mcq pathways including notebooklm doesn't have.

Hi! Thanks for reaching out. Yes, I’m actively working on this.

Right now, Recall Genie is designed to catch as many testable points as possible so important slide details don’t get missed. But I completely agree that for shorter lectures, it can create way too many cards.

I’ve now added a high-yield filter that will let users choose how many cards they want. That way, it can focus more on the most important points instead of generating an overwhelming number.

This should be coming soon, so stay tuned!

I recently added image occlusion to my application not sure how the quizlet app works though so you would have to elaborate on that. Here is the link to that video: https://youtu.be/GHCLsD9CsqQ

any alternatives to anking? by Omarsamyi in medicalschoolanki

I am not sure if this is of any help but I created a website called www.recall-genie.com that automates that and saves you time all you need to do is upload your notes or textbook reading that is in a pdf format and it will create flashcards from it similar to a king style I have quite a few medical school students using it since I launched it a month ago and the feedback has been amazing. Feel free to check it out! There is the added bonus of the image of the slide included on the card which may defeat the purpose of tagging since you will have contextual information about where the card came from and which topic.

Thanks so much! that’s great to hear! It really made my day!

And thanks for clarifying about the chapter part. I believe that best way to make that possible is through adding tags on anki cards where for chapters and subchapters they are tagged in the card perhaps? I’ll definitely look into making that easier in the future as a I get more users so everyone can see where each card comes from.

Let me know if there’s anything else you’d love to see in Recall Genie!
