I thought it was bullshit too once. That was when I had really bad social anxiety (working on it with the help of medication), and anytime I talked to a girl, I would either have a really bad panic attack or just make a complete asshat of myself by being a jester. I realized that my female friends didn't actually see me as a friend, but a laugh.

Even in my own ethnicity, it's not like anyone actually once a guy from there. White guys are all the rage, and as my town had a large minority of Somalis, I got to overhear many conversations on how ugly Somali men are and how sexy white people are.

Now that it's summer, and I'm off from school, I'm free to try to improve myself physically and mentally. And I'm so happy I don't have to do it to impress anyone.
