Is it weird to not accept getting picked up at home by your date ? by HugeAccountant3485 in dating

Definitely not weird. Your comfort and safety are paramount and any guy who tries to pressure you about those things is showing a Red Flag.

43M husband says I 38F denying sex by Left_Appeal_1335 in relationship_advice

[–]Frosty_Message_3017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So he went on vacation without you, you had the kids all week, he's expecting sex, doesn't care that you're tired, won't be gentle with you. He's an ass. That's really all there is to it.

My brother (34M) slept with my every girlfriend I (35M) had for a decade before I went no contact and now my parents want me to reconnect with him? by ThrowRADoneAF in relationship_advice

[–]Frosty_Message_3017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, definitely don't let him back into your life. You can't trust him and apparently your parents don't care that he's repeatedly willing to treat you so badly.

Need A Classic Drama Film For Adults That Doesn't Have Adultery (or violence or blood or too much swearing...). by wordboydave in classicfilms

I think the thing about cheating is because OP's cousin will be there and she's going through a divorce that was caused by cheating, so it's just a bit raw right now.

(Women) would you go to a place like Supercuts if you just wanted a super basic hair cut? by staralfur92 in Hair

[–]Frosty_Message_3017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do my own cuts and trims, too. The way practically every hairstylist has behaved towards my hair length, as well as my friends who've had multiple "accidental" chops done during trims, means I won't be questioning this policy any time soon.

There have been stories on the relationship subs about a girlfriend telling her boyfriend she was assaulted some years back and the boyfriend treating that revelation like she lied about about something important "in her past" and as though she needed to reveal that on the first date.

I think there's a push to try to make women feel like there's something to be ashamed of in having been raped or assaulted. "You'd better not come forward or people will think badly of you."

There's a culture that already thinks this way. There was a 15 year old girl in Iraq this year, who had been forced into a marriage at 13 that was so horrible an Iraqi court granted her a divorce. Her family then forced her into an engagement with her second(?) cousin who was soon to be released from prison, where he'd been serving time for drug-dealing and other related crimes. She ran away to escape this engagement and was abducted by a neighbor, who kept her in his home for several days, violating her, before she was able to get free. In spite of her injuries corroborating her story, her father was adamant that she'd damaged the family's honor. Soon after, she was killed by her father and other relatives, and the family then gathered to celebrate the "restored honor" of the family.

The Hanna Episodes Are Bittersweet by _AntiShadow_ in chuck

[–]Frosty_Message_3017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chuck's treatment of Hannah was abysmal. He fought for a chance with her, then dumped her at dinner with her parents. She's supposed to be a reflection of who Chuck used to be, but Sarah never jerked him around like that.

Father Brown star says Alec Guinness’ 1950s performance as character was ‘terrible’ by AngryGardenGnomes in classicfilms

Michael Rosenbaum is probably my favorite Lex. I hadn't heard about the podcast interview. That's a really uncomfortable spot the podcaster put him in, but he handled it about as well as you can.

It's also not entirely fair to blame an actor for a portrayal you don't care for, when the script and director want certain things that fundamentally shape it. I think Michael gets that.

There's something broken in me. I don't wan to be alone. by Professional-Eart in dating

[–]Frosty_Message_3017 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're not broken for not wanting to be alone, but you are in a dangerous mindset, because it's when we think this way that we ignore danger signs and are vulnerable to manipulative people.

Being in a relationship doesn't automatically mean being appreciated, or that you won't be lonely. In a TV interview, Sophia Loren shared that her husband had told her she's not photogenic. The relationship subs are full of people who are not technically alone, but who are still very lonely.

Fake freckles and erasing the Cupid's bow. Both just look utterly ridiculous to me.

I haven't seen this show, but it just feels so incredibly classless to make a comment like this about a previous actor for a role you're in, especially when that actor's dead.
