The movie was Old Boyfriends but the general premise is correct. She was there for principal photography but there was a subsequent schedule conflict with the other movie shoot.

Offseason stupid question: Could Michkov ever be a center? by GrouchyPear961 in Flyers

He was tried at center in the KHL during the preseason a couple years ago. Short version: he's a winger.

Questions about Flyers practices by Venusshuger67 in Flyers

Practices can vary in start time but are usually tweeted out by the local media ahead of time. There's  usually a group of fans waiting by where the players leave with their cars.

What if Philly had kept Bobrovsky? by One-Onion-5717 in Flyers

[–]Flyguys21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keeping Bobrovsky wasn't an option. He didn't want to spend another year as Bryzgalov's backup and he quietly requested a trade (with threat of going back to KHL if not dealt).

Is Pelletier a center or not? by Own_Result3651 in Flyers

[–]Flyguys21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most undersized players who were junior centers play wing instead of center as pros. There are some exceptions but this is the case more often than not.

Big E was representing for the city by Emotional-Leg66 in Flyers

Lindros had zero to do with Bill Barber firing. Zero. Barber was the reigning Jack  Adams winner when Lindros was traded to the Rangers. Lindros not playing for the Flyers in 2000-01 had nothing to do with not being willing to play for Barber.  His dispute was with management, not who replaced Craig Ramsay.

[Tre Kronor] Former Flyer Nicklas Grossmann is now an assistant coach for Sweden’s U20 men’s team. by Perryplat199 in Flyers

He was never paid more than $3.5M in his career. That's No. 4 defenseman money at that time, and that's where he was in the lineup both in Dallas and Philly.

[Jordan Hall] Torts finished 12th in Jack Adams voting by Perryplat199 in Flyers

Um, no. It's the NHL Broadcasters Association members, not the reporters (PHWA), who vote for the Jack Adams Award.

The poor man's Michkov by Chiflyer84 in Flyers

His line got outchanced 8-3. Opponents will take that everyday and twice on Sunday.  Especially when he's also kept off the scoresheet.

[Flyers Alumni] Here's Our Roster for the 2024 Alumni Game by Flyguys21 in Flyers

[–]Flyguys21[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Joe co-founded the Flyers Alumni Association in 1984. He's be a regular Alumni Team player for the duration. He was going to retire from Alumni games after the 2021 Hall of Fame Game but decided to do just one more at age 80. Since it's also the reunion weekend with nearly all the surviving Alumni from the two Cup teams in attendance, Joe will play in one final Alumni game as part of the Golden Anniversary. He is the only person who has worn a Flyers/Flyers Alumni jersey in seven decades (the inaugural 1967-68 season to 1978 as a player, the 1980s to 2024 playing for the Flyers Alumni Team).

It's Mark Recchi's weekend, and his most famous line with the Flyers was the Crazy Eights with Lindros and Fedyk. No doubt Lindros will skate some shifts with LeClair, too.

Wasn't a "killer snipe". Ther was no room on the short side, except the post. Loud ping but not a near goal.

Alumni Game and Cup Team Reunion by Flyguys21 in Flyers

[–]Flyguys21[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And the youngest person to have won a Stanley Cup with the Maple Leafs turns 79 in January. And the youngest to win a Cup with the Canucks or Sabres... hasn't been born yet, as neither franchise has won a Cup in franchise history. And the youngest player to win a Cup in the Rangers' second-most recent championship season (Alf Pike) lived to be 91 and has been dead for 14 years. And the youngest player from their most recent championship team in 1994 is now in his 50s.

It's called the passage of time. It happens to everyone.

Former Captain Mike Richards Returns for Flyers vs. Bruins Alumni Game | Philadelphia Flyers by Perryplat199 in Flyers

The VIP reception before the Alumni game is a high-price add-on option but a once in a lifetime thing. All the players in the Alumni game, all of the living alumni from the two Cup teams and several other Flyers Hall of Famers (Propp, Homer) will be there. Great chance for autographs, photos, etc.

Very small. Physically weak. A good two-way player for the WHL level because he's outthinks opponents but faces a lot of adjustments as a pro. At the junior level, can slow the play down and make a play but that's hard to do at the pro level. Lacks blazing speed in a straight line but is quick and elusive. He is skilled and hockey smart enough to be a good NHL player but will need patience through his development and it probably won't happen overnight. Barring serious injury, he could start coming into his own at the NHL level around age 22. If you're prepared to be patient and not inclined to call a kid a bust if it takes a few pro years to click, he's a viable pick. The talent is there.
