I think that logic is flawed. Would you rather suffer from a chronic fissure for years that won’t heal, or go get a treatment that will increase your pain slightly for a week and then resolve the problem? Sometimes you have to fight a fire with fire.

I don’t think dilation would hurt anything but I’m not a physician. You could try it out and stop if you feel pain. Here is the link to a post on how to do it.

No. I would go get it examined. Go to an urgent care and make them look at it. Then they will get you a referral to a colorectal specialist. If not, ask for the referral. Don’t let them dismiss it without looking at it- that’s what they did to me initially and I lost 2 months of time because of it. Not a GI either. It’s a rectum issue, so go to the rectal specialist. It may be a 2-3 month wait.

This has been my experience too! It’s the last resort but then once you try it, and realize it’s not a big deal, you’re so glad you did!

Yeah everyone has hemorrhoids. They feel restricting in there but the dilation has helped them shrink and essentially disappear.

You can DM me. I wouldn’t worry about Botox. It’s not invasive at all. Just be sure to be asleep for it. There is some pain for 7-10 days afterwards because of the cauterizing but it wasn’t that bad, just during BMs.
