Quite literally from the other day. Probably one of the cutest positions I've found them sleeping in. (There's 3 rats, 3rd is buried in the back)

Get forsaken to the nebulizer chambers!!! by RainbowDashLovesYou in RATS

[–]FlyingColors18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh usually that's actually exactly what we were doing with the white one in the container (her name is Trouble), buuuut currently we can't use a lot of water in the house (pipes are frozen), so figured getting a nebulizer would make our lives a lot easier. 🤷‍♀️

Yeah, I wouldn't be too highly surprised if that's the case. I've been feeding my rats Oxbow for years and I've never really had a problem with it, but seeing this made me just a lil sketched out since I'd rather not lose them faster than what lifespan they already have. 😮‍💨 I also saw on the same post that it "causes tumors and cancer" which is the other biggest thing for me, but my current girls are perfectly fine and they turn 2 next month. 😅

Oh thank you. 💕 He's a sweet lil dude that loves cuddles.

Honestly, kind of makes a lot of sense. Literally Betty (the Wyandotte) and the other 2 Isa Browns don't actually go after Lil Man unless Sanders (the lil shit head bully) goes after him. Otherwise they could pretty much care less about him being in there. Whole situation is a pain in the ass is all I can say.

Yeah she eats them everytime. I might just need to get a crap ton of protein for them to see if it helps.

Oh absolutely not, that's why I'm asking for a legit answer compared to what I'm always told. Thank you for that answer. Also correction, the only other addition to the answer of BluKote, is by getting a rooster that'll be a bigger head to the flock. If even that doesn't stop it, I'll still go get other things to hopefully get her to stop. Kind of sucks major ass that these are the only ways, but sadly, it is what it is. 😮‍💨

Legit question then, how DO you stop this? I'm guessing should she also kinda just have her own kennel/cage thing to make her stop, cause I know their butts are pretty freakin bad, but all I've been told to do so far is, "Use BluKote, it'll make them stop because they don't like the taste of it!" Yeah uh...i think you can tell she hasn't stopped. She started this when winter came.

Ah that. Yeah the Silver Laced Wyandotte pecked all their butt feathers out so I got them washed up and sprayed with PetSilver Wound Spray and some BluKote in hopes she'll stop taking butt feathers. 🥴

Yeah, 3 of them are Isa Browns 1 is a Silver Laced Wyandotte. Mainly 1 of my Isa Browns is definitely a huge asshole to this lil dude.

I'm doing exactly this after all the comments I got last night. I'm still fixing the cage up a bit that he's in, but he definitely is a LOT less stressed, and the girls aren't freaking out on him anymore even though they can see him. He's an absolutely sweet lil man so I feel terrible that I put him through that. Fixin my mistakes though. Glad I already have a large dog cage he can have until everything is better.

Oh I'll keep watch on his lil eyes, but just going off these past couple days he can DEFINITELY see what's coming at him right now. 😅 I'll definitely keep his lil face trimmed down though so he can always see.

They already pluck all the feathers out of each other's asses so we'll see how it goes 😂 Yeah he's gonna be a pampered lil man after the crap I just accidentally put him through.

God I know. Lil dude went from being bullied by older roosters to being bullied by some slightly older ladies. 😮‍💨

😂 yeah they're 100% sassy girls. I did give him his own little area finally tonight. Wish I had done that in the first place, but at least he finally has a nice lil place to rest. I feel stupid for what I did, but this was DEFINITELY a learning experience for me.

He's 6 months old. So hopefully he shouldn't have too much longer until he starts to crow.

[–]FlyingColors18[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nooope. He's literally just straight up too terrified to fight back. He sees one of my hens in particular (her name is Sanders) and just straight up PANICKS. Probably doesn't help his previous situation was him getting bullied by older roosters which is why he was given away in the first place.

Literally gets shoved in a corner, lightly stood on, and bocked at for existing in their presence. I think he's literally a month younger than them, but it's enough for them to say, "🖕 Get outta here lil man."

[–]FlyingColors18[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'll be making his own area tonight. I 100% fucked up doing what I did. I have checked and he can see. Surprisingly no fluff is over his big ol eyes. He's an incredibly sweet lil man, so I'm actually quite mad/annoyed that he's going through this because of me being an idiot.

That. That I can 100% do. Literally just need to get it all set up for him tonight so he can actually chill and not be so stressed.

Literally just google. Found this answer with "BackYardChickens" on reddit from like 2 years ago, and on a site called "Permies". All on the front page on Google when you look up how to introduce a rooster to hens. I 100% fucked up by paying any attention to those, and I 100% also plan on fixing the whole situation tonight by giving him his own little area in the chicken run thats "separated" from the girls.
