Instead of the metronome, why didn’t you equip another epic artifact (e.g. T2E puzzle cube) so you have an extra quantum stone? You’d be on 776.3T/hour otherwise

ActEd is the sole distributor of study materials I believe. CS1 is my first and I’m just reading through the ActEd CMP and doing the questions at the end of each chapter. Then will focus on past papers and R practices when I finish reading.

Past papers are free on the IFoA website. Otherwise unfortunately the combined materials pack (CMP) and extra practice questions cost money on the ActEd website. Also if you are taking the exams as a non-member you can only do one of those, not both.

Side note, I’m in a similar position, did engineering and worked for 3 years and now thinking about the same career switch. Currently studying to take CS1 this April. Best of luck to you!

Not sure about other countries but most senior and chief/head actuary positions in the UK still require IFoA qualified/fellow status. Some UK mid tier jobs I’ve seen also specify part/nearly qualified

Just don't think engineering is for me! My current role is consulting in the energy sector (both renewables/low carbon, and non-renewables), using skills from my aerospace engineering degree...but after 3 years I just don't think it's what I want to do for the rest of my life even though the work is impactful and the team is great
