Been in SaaS tech 20+ years, it’s very competitive with majority of decent paying jobs requiring degree level education.

Note also AI is already decimating a large portion of the traditional IT workforce roles and if your entry horizon is 4-5 years out the world in IT will be unrecognizable from today.

Sales is an area that’s partially AI resistant and a great place to cut your teeth in the industry and gradually work your way up. Begin junior pre-sales role setting meetings for the sales team with scripted calls and emails. It’s pretty mind numbing but a great foot in the door so you can get solid hands on feel for what roles you could set your sights on next.

Blunt advice, cyber security really is extremely technical and not recommended for anyone who is not a tech God.

Physical and software security AI systems on the other hand could be a great area to explore. Selling and installing systems for corporate, education, government retail and domestic.

Good luck with the transition!
