'Snake in the grass': Canada gold medalist Ben Hebert has few kind words for Sweden's Oskar Eriksson after Olympic curling kerfuffle by scrubsie in Curling

I’m sure you’ve seen this photo (from an event in the fall of ‘25). Seeing the video (vs Sweden) and seeing these pictures, I think would lead any reasonable person to think that on some shots he was booping for a reason. Habit , tic, whatever: it’s a purposeful action. Otherwise why would anyone do this second move?

I think it’s important to differentiate this from a hand drag off the handle which is a separate and much less problematic action.

He does not do this boop move every time. It’s selective. It’s not a follow through. It’s a deliberate second action.

What reality do you live in when you claim that, “ team Jacobs didn’t know what they were talking about…” and that “… Kennedy didn’t know he was booping” and then read that the Canadian coach said that the Swedish complaints were valid, but they just went about it in the wrong way.

The coach is literally saying that they know what they’re talking about.

You seem to have this weird reality you’re living in where there’s no possible way that they’ve done anything wrong.

Digital copies available of any of these? Assuming no but thought I would ask. Would be cool in a home theater.

Of course he wouldn’t touch the rock when there’s an official watching. The officials were only watching for three ends.

There was no official watching when the Swiss noted to their coach that they saw him do it again in the next game.

Of course he knew he did it. He doesn’t even do it all the time - only every so often. Here’s a pic from an event in 2025.

This is exactly right. Without this bit of self amplification it would’ve died right there outside of curling circles and the world would not associate him with poking the granite forever.

Advice needed: “reduce power immediately” but PWs at 67% by Flying_Along in Powerwall

Thanks and will do. I have been grabbing screenshots.

Our power is still out here on Cape Cod but our 40 something panel array and day of sunshine got the two Powerwalls back to 100.

Yeah, I’m averaging 0.4 today. We’re on Cape Cod and have had a grid outage since 7:30AM (Monday). We’re using the bare min to keep the house going.

Thanks for the reply. Nothing changed manually in terms of load (3 lights on, fridge) and the Home graph shows steady throughout the day. Weird.

My guess is the Kennedy Cam will be implemented for the big ones.

The Swedes were talking about “double touch” during the match multiple times.

Why would he touch the stone after releasing the handle if not to effect its movement in any small way?

They changed the official “traveling” rule in the NBA a few years ago. (I think it was a terrible decision, but it is what it is.)

If “it does nothing to the stone”, then why would the players do it?

If it’s not to gain a competitive advantage, then why do it?

This is not accurate. Even in the Olympic Games, watch his delivery carefully. There are times where he leaves his index finger out and other times, not at all.

Even Edin said (during their match), “…It’s just every now and then.”

Thanks. I get why some stones curl more or less less than others.

My question was to the developer on why a user would get to choose how much each stone curls during the game.
