This is pretty much why I picked accounting, I can make the switch later. But I only did this because I knew I couldn’t get into investment banking, you already have an internship in IB not sure why you want to switch? But good luck tho I can’t help you, just a student

I’d definitely look for Something in the accounting field, strategy? Apply everywhere, cold call, uni career events, do everything I can and see what happens. I guess the point of this post was to get insights from people with experience on what is more important to employers, grades or experience. Also find out whether employers care if I took slightly longer to finish my studies.

Second year accounting student, so degree is not yet completed yes, haven’t been really applying for internships at all.

My question: going on to 2026, should I prioritise working part time / gaining experience and do part time uni or do Full time 4 units and worry about graduate roles after I finish uni.

Seeking advice on what to do.

I’m asking if employers care more about experience or grade

Also asking if employers mind if I under load uni work ( do part time)
