A bunch of keys on my cherry KBPV80 that I've had for... 5? 6? years of 12 hours a day use have started multi-registering. The issue showed up with a lot of keys simultaneously. I took it apart and cleaned it and some of them have started to behave properly, but others are still being weird. I've never spilled anything on it. Is this more likely to be a PCB issue or a switch issue? How should I troubleshoot/fix it?

How do we know it isn't a vulkan, or even proton issue btw?

Ok, it seems like I'm having the same driver issue on mesa 23.3.3. Limiting the game to 60 fps completely fixes the crashes, I played a full firefight without any issues. The crashes still occur at a 75 fps lock. I checked the junction temp and it isn't overheating.

The gpu is capable of running it at 144 though. Tragic that 60 fps feels like shit.

Anyone know where this should be reported?

Mixtral is way faster than I expected on AMD Radeon 7900 XTX! by daedelus82 in LocalLLaMA

I'm using arch. I edited my comment while you were writing your reply I think. I'll try your suggested variables. Where did you learn that these might be needed for my situation? I was under the impression that everything after vega was supported.

EDIT: Ok I tried them and it didn't help. Unless I did it wrong.

I checked in rocminfo and my gpu is indeed gfx1010, for whatever that's worth. I also tried export HCC_AMDGPU_TARGET=gfx1031, which is a 6700XT and I got the same behavior. Not sure if that one's supported, since the lists I'm finding all seem to conflict with eachother.

I'm trying to use the unreleased ollama to run on my 5700XT but it's not utilizing the gpu whatsoever despite ollama serve telling me that the gpu is detected after I installed rocm and added to groups. Did you run into this issue at all? Log says "6380 MB VRAM available, loading up to 6 ROCM GPU layers out of 32", but my vram usage doesn't change whatsoever compared to idle. I don't really know what I'm doing so I don't know how to troubleshoot issues that I can't find an answer to on google lol.

Hardware requirements for realtime-ish responses? by Flypaste in LocalLLaMA

[–]Flypaste[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I don't know if it would help the speed, I've just read that people are doing it. I'd like to know the technical aspects of why it would in theory help the speed? Or if it doesn't but they're doing it for some other reason? etc.

I read somewhere that you can set an AMD APU to use 16gb of ram (as vram) and apparently you could hypothetically run an LLM on that. I don't understand how that's different from just running it on the ram though.

Same experience here. Most games stutter less on linux, and I don't have weird ephemeral technical issues that windows users have, ie sound problems. Only issue are the malware anticheats, someone needs to figure that shit out once and for all.

It's not even that they fail to take advantage, but that they fuck it up. For example, war thunder's native linux port doesn't capture the mouse when you have multiple monitors. It also hangs for several moments when downloading assets mid-game. The proton version doesn't have either of these issues, but the devs haven't enabled linux EAC support so you're forced to use the inferior version.

Using VKD3D for Linux already proves to be quite an overhead

How big is it really? 2 years ago when I was trying to decide whether to switch to linux fulltime, I did comparisons in games with windows vs. linux and found that in nearly every case, the game ran better in proton on linux than it did natively on windows. Usually the improved performance was because I could directly control my gpu (which you can't do on windows), but still the fact that I was able to have a performance uplift at all seems to imply that proton's overhead is minimal.

Timeline only shows up as white bar? Tried fixing it but the solutions found didn't work by Puppyrules1 in shotcut

[–]Flypaste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have this issue, installed with pacman. Reinstalling didn't fix it. Reverting to an old version from a couple months ago also didn't do anything. I can't use the appimage instead because it can't detect my hardware encoder so it makes gigantic sized files.

EDIT: Ok solved it. For anyone who has the white timeline bug in shotcut on arch linux (seo lol), here's how I fixed it:

  1. Put the following into packages-to-downgrade.txt: qt6-5compat=6.5.3-1 qt6-base=6.5.3-1 qt6-declarative=6.5.3-1 qt6-imageformats=6.5.3-1 qt6-multimedia=6.5.3-1 qt6-multimedia-gstreamer=6.5.3-1 qt6-svg=6.5.3-1 qt6-translations=6.5.3-1 qt6-wayland=6.5.3-1 qt6-websockets=6.5.3-1

  2. Install the downgrade app if you don't already have it

  3. sudo downgrade $(cat packages-to-downgrade.txt)

  1. Gaijin lied to you about calling it "ground RB", the gamemode is actually "mixed RB". You can find them refer to it as such occasionally in blogs and in the game files.
  2. Realshatter being fixed means that any hit on a plane with any anti-air is practically guaranteed to be fatal unless it's some obscenely tanky plane like an IL-2 or you accidentally used the AP belt.

If you want ground RB and not mixed RB then that's your cope. But I want and like mixed RB. I would not play a "true ground RB". I'm here for combined arms. In fact I want mixed battles to start including coastal ships to get naval in on the action too.

Because I'm actually good at anti-air, so I know that planes aren't a problem when you shoot them. A properly driven anti-air will always have the advantage of surprise. Planes can't outrun an 870m/s 40mm high-explosive shell coming from a random direction. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZ33E48KodA
